I'm not a smoker anymore.

in blog •  6 years ago

Today is the 6th day in from quitting smoking and I feel great.

I no longer get to the top of my stairs and gasp for breath, I can smell things clearly and my money is safely in my pocket and not the governments.

I made the choice last monday to quit smoking and what a ride it has been, from the first hour of not having one I felt rough and anxious, as time went on I started to feel better in myself for it.

You have to know I was smoking between 20 and 30 a day and this was making a real whole in the bank balance as cigarettes are priced at nearly £9 a box over here in the UK.

I have however noticed that I have been eating more, and my trousers that I worked so hard to fit in are starting to feel a little tight, but this is something else I can work too.

I never thought that it would be possible to quit, I thought that it would be too hard to do.

If I can do it anyone can quit as it isn't that hard, for the first 2 to 3 days seem to be the hardest as time drags and you are looking for excuses to have one but after that it gets so much easier.

I really feel like a new man, and what tops it all off is my kids are happy that I have quit, my oldest child said to me that she didn't want to get to 20 and have no parents and that was a realisation that she was scared of losing us.

Still everyday I still want to go and have one, this is mainly after meals and when I have just woken up but other than that I am not struggling.

I thank everybody for their words of kindness and support through this journey, I know that it isn't finished yet.

Thank you all for reading and until next time

Well done. It's a hard thing but the more you stop the easier it gets. I've stopped loads of times :0D

I stopped back in 2012 after a heart attack but that only lasted a year and I started again. lol.
Maybe I should listen to the doctors and live than smoke and die haha

Well done man, keep it up and don’t let things slide!
