Adıyaman ilinin Kommagene krallığına ev sahipliği yaptığını hepimiz biliyoruz. Dolayısıyla Kommagene krallığı ile alakalı birçok tarihi esere rastlamak da mümkün.
Bunlardan biri Arsemia ismi ile geçen bir bölge. Burası Kral I.Antiochos’un kitabelerinde geçen Kommagene atası Arsemez tarafından kurulmuş krallığın başkenti ve dolayısıyla idare merkezidir.
Arsemia’nın güneyinde Mitras’ın kabartma steline rastlıyoruz.
Yine burada ayin platformunda Antiochos ile Herakles ‘ın tokalaşma steli bulunmaktadır. Bu stelin hemen önünde ise Anadolu’daki en büyük Grekçe yazıt yer almaktadır.
Tepedeki platformda ise Mithridathes Callinichos’ın sarayı ve mezar tapınağı bulunmaktadır.
Bu arada Arsemia, Nemrut yolu üzerinde 60.kmde. Özel aracınız yoksa özel turları deneyebilirsiniz. Diğer türlü toplu taşım bulunmamaktadır.
