In my last post, I have told about my bad experience in Morocco. And, I have also told you not all was bad. I really did enjoy playing with my teammates. In this game, we actually played against the best team in Morocco. We both won our semi-final game easily. And, it was a great warmup for a showdown in the finals.

Usually, the teams don't play as hard in the preseason, but this game was different. Both teams wanted to win. This was our second game in 2 days so my team came out sluggish and we were down 15 points at half-time. But we picked it up in the second half. I hit a couple of 3's right at the start of the third quarter and we started playing a way better defense in the second half. Soon the game became very interesting.
We tied the game about 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter. We were very close to the upset because Salle is the team who I believe won 6 consecutive championships in Morocco. We ended up missing some easy shots in those last 3 minutes and we lost the game by 2 points only. It was a great tournament for us as a team because we showed everybody we have a great team for the upcoming season.
This is why in my post you could actually feel the sadness in my words. Because I think we could have done some great things in the upcoming season. But, that is how it is in life. Things sometimes do not turn out the way you want them to turn out. I was one of the best players on the team and I was not treated in a good way. Not even close.
About 3 months later one my teammates there told me the President kept pulling the same shady stuff with players. Most of the players did not get paid for 3 or more months and the team fell apart as many of players left the club. I guess this was just a confirmation for me that I made the right decision of leaving.
I truly can't understand people like this President and I probably never will. You have a great team and a great group of teammates who enjoy playing with each other. All you have to do is be HUMAN BEING, respect the players and contracts you signed. And, you will have a great season. Like I said before this was one big lesson for me. And, that is LISTEN TO YOURSELF. We all have the best lie detector machine in US. It is called our SOUL. Listen to it. Listen to YOU speaking to YOURSELF. Thank you, Morocco for the lessons.
