Yoga basically save me from being paralyzed. One day I woke up and could not feel the right side of my body. It took me 2 weeks to recover mobility and be able to walk. I was on so many pain killers and pills it was ridiculous and doctor's had no idea what I had.
They even thought I had sclerosis, it was that bad. In the end it was a mix of stress, horrible spasms and hernias in my spine.
It seems it was partly genetic and partly due to high stress at my job.
I was lucky enough to find a neurologist who told me besides the medication, I should work out everyday to balance the chemistry in my body. This changed my life! I have been working out almost everyday for two years and my body and mood have drastically changed. I never had an episode like the one I had 2 years ago. I still get back spasms or migraines, but now I can manage them.
Yoga can be practiced any way you want, the point is that you get to know yourself and listen to your body. You don't need to pay expensive classes, you can research and find awesome classes in youtube, or ask a friend about it.
I would recommend it to anyone, it definitely saved me, now I know my body, I listen to it and I feel more positive and happy everyday.
I really love inversions because they make me feel stronger and see things from another perspective.
Here are some pics ;)

Inspiring story. Do you go to yoga classes or are you self taught?

Hi Austin! I sometimes go to classes, but 90% has been self taught. I do try to be super careful with not injuring myself, specially because of my spine.

This has a much happier ending than your other post I just read. Glad you found yoga. I practice almost daily as well. It's awesome!

I pretty much just do Ashtanga and I've only made yoga post (and another about yoga pants) on steemit. You should follow @pretzelgirlsandy she posts yoga stuff all the time and she's super bendy. I am quite jealous of her.
