Untolerable, Discomfort Tooth Pain of Mine

in blog •  6 years ago  (edited)

Tooth decay is one of the most common causes of toothache pain. Tooth decay occurs when acids from plaque bacteria penetrate into the tooth enamel causing a loss of tooth mineral which, if it progresses, can ultimately cause pain in the tooth’s inner layer, the pulp. This past few days, I am suffering and experiencing a severe pain in my tooth that causes me of many sleepless nights and I can't hide the feeling to almost cry. I felt discomfort when cold and food makes my tooth hurt. I always take mefenamic acid (pain reliever) just to ease the pain and make me relieve from discomfort.

My girlfriend @chingpherd who is a Dental Nurse/Assistant advised me to take an x-ray for it and she will assist what's the best thing to do with my tooth. And, when she saw the x-ray result, she found out that there is already pulp exposure with my tooth, the decay hits on the nerve and that's the reason why I felt pain and it really hurts. @chingpherd advised me to do and perform "Pulpotomy Treatment". And yes! Yesterday she performed Pulpotomy Treatment with my tooth and it really helps me a lot, thanks to her for taking care of my tooth. I am now comfortable to eat anything and drink even cold.

The primary objective of pulp therapy is to maintain the integrity and health of the teeth and their supporting tissues, aside from that, we can also save the tooth from extraction by means of "Pulpotomy Treatment". It is also known as "Partial Root Canal Treatment". It is a treatment objective to maintain the vitality of the pulp of a tooth affected by caries, traumatic injury, or other causes.
Especially in young permanent teeth with immature roots, the pulp is integral to continue apexogenesis.

Long term retention of a permanent tooth requires a root with a favorable crown/root ratio and dentinal walls that are thick enough to withstand normal function. Therefore, pulp preservation is a primary goal for treatment of the young permanent dentition. A tooth without a vital pulp, however, can remain clinically functional.

After the pulpotomy is performed the remaining radicular pulp may be Rendered inert by using formocresol that is bactericidal and “fixes” the pulp tissue. The Pulpotomy procedure is indicated when caries removal results in pulp exposure in a primary tooth with a normal pulp or reversible pulpitis or after a traumatic pulp exposure.

Thank you @chingpherd for the ideas and for editing my post.. :)
