Well folks, if you didn't know (as you most likely don't) quite a bit has changed in the GTO Muuurica adventures camp. The GTO has had a pretty hard last few years and will be going down for some much needed upgrades. It's bitter sweet, but I'm excited, because it will finally get the attention she deserves.
The garage isn't completely setup yet, but it's getting there. The GTO will hibernate here for a few months while I get some affairs and more importantly finances in order (adulting sucks). The plan ahead could be one of a few things. ProChargered 5.3, Turbo LS3 with a PTE Billet 75/76, or a nitrous LSX 479ci stroker on a 250 shot. All of which would be with a 6spd manual (because I like to party).
I have the turbo sourced from a good friend and I already have a LS3......sooooo there's that.
The thing about it is, the news isn't really about the GTO but more it's replacement as the fun family hauler.
Meet Ronin....
Ronin is actually a Japanese name and if you Google it will reference a popular Japanese animation. My wife isn't a fan of Japanese animation nor had any idea the name would be associated as such. After all, it is HER car. That's right, after years of poking and proding with a little bit of luck. I was able to get her into her very first new(ish) car and a hotrod of sorts at that.
I'm as excited for her as she is and couldn't be happier. It's a 2015 Challenger R/T Plus Rally with launch control ( she tested it on the first drive I am told, lol ). It has all the bells and whistles she could ever want with just under 400hp on tap. It's Jazz Blue with the leather interior and definitely screams her.
Like any family cruises we broke Ronin in right with a trip. We headed to see some lights with a local Mopar group and I snapped some pictures along the way. It's a little foreign being in the passenger seat, but it gives me more time to keep up with my blog.
I didn't get any outside night profile pictures as it was a moving deal and could have angered some people behind us,lol. All in all we're happy with a new addition and look forward to the path ahead. For Ronin there are a few cosmetic tweaks for a nice stance and a more aggressive look. As for power, I foresee a blower, exhaust, tune, etc in the foreseeable future. Nothing crazy, just the tweaks you'd want to any daily to make it really well rounded. After all, it is HER car ;-)
For now, looks like I'm sharing the garage for a bit.
Until next time....
