The Walking Dead's remaining half of season 8 came out on last Sunday (25th Feb) and the episode 9 started with a scene in which everyone (Rick's team members), in order to save themselves from the attack of Negan took shelter under sewer with a bitten Carl (Rick's son).
Those scenes were very emotional for viewers as Negan's squad was taking down alexandria and at the other hand under the grounds of alexandria Rick was seeing his son suffering from a bite and slowly dying. After finding out his son in this condition he was speechless and shocked as every team member was in deep sorrow but Carl told his father to be strong. Carl also told his father about how he got bitten and mentioned that it was not because of saviors (Negan) but his own fault when he was out with Siddiq in the woods and attempted to kill multiple walkers.
It also brought tears to my eyes, that a character who survived through the most difficult times from season 1 is going to die.
Carl started his journey in the world of dead walkers when he was just a boy. He survived the most difficult situation in which he saw his mother (Lori) got bitten and put her mother out of pain and shot her just after she gave a birth to a controversial sister of Carl (Judith). This incident changed Carl and he became one of a smart guy of team he also sneaked into the nest of Negan and didn't freaked out when caught.
From the beginning of the Walking Dead series Rick had done everything to save Carl and most of the viewers including myself were expecting Carl to be the last man standing along with his father and few more team members but this can not be happen now.

In the end Carl shared his dream with his father that he watched everyone living peacefully and about rebuilding of alexandria and asked his father to promise him to make his dream come true after that Rick promised him and Carl shot himself.
But episode 9 left us a riddle that Carl also watched Negan joining Rick and contributing to rebuild alexandria and episode 9 ended with honouring Carl and a smiling old Negan greeting good morning to Judith.
