Hello and sorry for the delay in my reporting. As it usually goes universe sent me straight into the great place and I had no time to sit down and write about the worldly affairs. So I will try to catch up with the situation as much as I'm able to remember.
My Czech friend Sasha invited me to come over and visit her in Kohimarama district just in the time I was looking for some accommodation not to overstay my welcome in my friends Daryl's house. Not that he would suggest anything like that, but you know the feeling when you arrive to the city and end up at your friends house for next week without any prior notice! Your grateful, but don't want to overuse the hospitality.
So I came to this rich man's neighbourhood as I could see from miles away walking in and found this beautiful house full of travelers where my friend lived! Its almost mansion style house and its shared by lot of people who are now waiting/working though the winter to get ready for better weather and summer exploration. Even the fact they had no more space left didn't change anything, we (me and French girl Margo who came on same day as couch surfer) were both warm welcomed and the space was made for us to join the crowd!
House have three floors, three balconies, sauna, swimming pool, and many rooms. (still after two weeks I haven't seen all of it). At the moment we are here is following setup: Four French, four Czech, Mexicana, Philipina, Peruvian, Australian, New Zealander. Almost half guys/girls ratio.Such a multi-cultural place!
Lot of stuff is happening around all the time. As you can imagine party is almost on daily basis, with such numbers house party can spring up at any time and often does, but its not all just about drinking and smoking. Mornings we do yoga, stretching and martial arts in general, we play lot of music, do the drawings, watch the documentaries, use sauna (ofc!) and work on the house to make it nicer! Also of course all the people are very interested in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies so I'm preparing few lessons on the subject! Such a ''luck'' and joy for me to end up in this place!
We also did few trips in reachable distance from Auckland. Visited Rotorua and its beautiful hot spring waterfall. It was on full moon so it felt like soul cleansing in the natural temple. Picture can hardly describe the beauty of the place, but have nothing better to share with you now.
Also there is a park about 15 minutes from our house when in the night you can see the glow worms! I though they only live in the caves, but was very surprised to see them by the small stream in the middle of ''park''. Don't get yourself mistaken, park in the middle of the suburb doesn't look like any other city park I saw previously. Trees are old and massive and in the minute you dive into it you feel like walking in the middle of pristine jungle! After seeing glow-worms for ages only in the documentaries I was very excited to have found them here. Unfortunately night pictures did not work well.
Other that those small explorations I'm spending time reading, working around house and also once a week class of Capoeira and I guess in such spirit it will carry on for a while. Summer is still away! But to be honest winter on New Zealand is great. When the sun is up you are having nice 25C and can walk around in t shirt. When its raining you just have to stay indoor, simple as that :)
Tomorrow we should go to one of the near beaches and clean it up of plastic and other rubbish. Always wanted to do something like that so I'm quite happy to join. When the cleaning is finished there will be music djam on the beach! Even better. Lets just hope the weather will be nice.
I think that was a very short form everything happening in last few weeks. I hope you will enjoy the pictures. Have a great time wherever you are!
