If you read my last post you'd know that I'm home in Cornwall! And while we're here we are taking advantage of any opportunity to venture around the County that arises. So, when my Mum and Nan asked if I wanted to join on a day visit to Padstow I happily tagged along!
Padstow is a working fishing port on the beautiful Cornish coastline at the head of the Camel River.
We started our day by having a walk along the streets and window shopping the quaint Cornish stores. We stopped at a cafe for cup of tea which we later noticed was opened by a New Zealand national, explains the Fairy Bread and Afghan cookies on the menu!
Afterwards, we went for another walk and found a fudge store, which advertised vegan friendly fudge! Both my Nan and my Mum are following a vegan diet for the month of June to see how well they adapt to the diet and lifestyle, both my Husband and I are vegan so it's been a big influence on food in the household. My Nan happily bought a few packets of vegan fudge to take home and try, so that's what we'll be having with a cup of tea later!
Fudge being made!
By this point we were ready for some lunch so we headed to a Pasty store and picked up 3 spicy bean pasties. (We are seeing vegan pasties everywhere which is great!) We found a bench outside and decided to sit out in the sun, though, like anyone who has visited Cornwall will know, the seagulls are a pain!! They swoop and dive for your food so it's a challenge to eat without your food being snatched from your hands. We ended up eating at a slow pace, nibbling our pasty hunched over so the gulls didn't spot it. At least we had this view for lunch...
At this point we had full bellies and we took one last walk overlooking the river before driving home back to Cornwall.
