ADVENTURE 1

RECIPE FOR WHO I AM TODAY

For sure everyone had been in that part of their life dreaming of becoming SOMEONE.

SOMEONE everybody proud off, 

SOMEONE everybody cheer for, 

SOMEONE that inspire everyone, 

SOMEONE that could change the world, 

And for me, I want to be a part of it, a part of these magnificent individuals. And how can I become one of it? Through my melody obviously. By the way, I haven’t properly introduced myself yet. The name is Darryl Jones Jr. Born and raised in an island they called land below the wind also known as Borneo or also known as Sabah in a country called Malaysia. And my dream is to inspire and to touch people through my music.  

WHO DOESN’T LOVE MUSIC

My love for music blossoms when I was still small, in an age that I couldn’t even remember myself. During my high schools years, I’ve started playing music instrument called GUITAR. And for that day on my mates and I will be going to studio each week just to release our stress and pressure. Accompany by couple of worn out guitar without any pedal effects, a rusty bass, broken drum set where the cymbals all crash out and two un-adjustable microphone is all we need to rock out in our own stage where no one would watch us.    

 THE REAL DEAL 

The real deal happens in my college years. And yes I did finish off my diploma in hospitality if you guys were wondering HAHAHA. Let’s get back to the story then, it all happens when me and two of my college mates were chilling at Centre Point, Palm Square and then we saw this flyers “The Ultimate Band Search 2”. To be honest, at that time as a college student, I don’t have enough money and this battle of the band competition offers you 10 thousand ringgit if you win it. That’s a lot of money for college kid like me back in those days. 

WHAT’S THE NAME OF THE BAND? 

Me Gusta!!

We took the registration form and went home straightaway, we started filling in all the blanks in that form with our names, our ID, our positions and then comes the hardest part of all, choosing the name of the band. Choosing a band name is the toughest of all, and I am pretty sure that most band having a hard times in choosing their own names. After hours of gruesome brainstorming, finally we decide to call ourselves ME GUSTA!!   

STORM OUT KISSES, LATER THAT NIGHT WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING, AND THE SUN WILL RISE AGAIN. 

The rules and regulation of the competition was 1 original song and 1 cover song. We end up bringing both of our songs. The song writer for both of the songs was our drummer. A steemer as well, maybe you guys want to follow him @v1tko. I myself was not a very good song writer at that time. So I would just leave the writing to him. Though we didn’t win anything at that night, but at least we caught few attentions of the people there.
