Most Advertising Ever?
These have got to be the most advertised boxer briefs I have come across. I see advertising for these on billboards, on TV, on the internet, beamed directly into my brain by lasers. I mean the advertisements are everywhere. Oddly enough, when I talk to people about reviewing underwear, these have come up a couple of times. They were probably the most asked about boxer briefs.
All that comes down to great advertising. I would bet if you asked a person out of the blue. What does Duluth Trading Company sell? I could almost bet you the vast majority of responses are underwear.
Comfort and Chafe
These have a more comfortable waistband than the Armachillo, but it’s coming at the cost of keeping my underwear up. These do roll down a lot more than the Armachillo Boxer briefs. Specifically for performance boxer briefs. I would sacrifice a bit of the comfort in the waistband for support.
They did make it a full day without chafe. My days wearing these weren’t as hard as some of the other days, but they can make it through a 10k step day, and not have you chafing at the end of it.
Moisture and Odor Control
Moisture control is good with these. The mesh fabric allows moisture to be wicked away and then dried rapidly.
Odor control on these doesn’t exist. Duluth needs to work on a pair of underwear that stays up as well as these do but don’t have you getting whiffs of swamp-ass.
Value and Warranty
These things are not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. Sometimes you can find deals, but they don’t happen as often as I would like. So, you should probably plan on spending full price. Unless, you want to save up, and wait for 3–6 months for the next deal to come around.
They still have the best warranty that I have seen.
Verdict
I would only recommend these if you can get them on a good sale. When you are paying the full prices. The Armachillo briefs are at that same price point, and significantly better. Around the holidays you can find these for sale around $13.50. They are acceptable at this price if you forgive the fact that they don’t have odor control.
They do offer ample moister wicking and chafe protection. So, they aren’t a non-recommendation. These guys fall solidly on, “It depends.”
