in blog •  7 years ago

This is the miniseries that exists because of support from Steemians!

This is the introduction to the series, which will contain 16 total parts. It's going to be huge!

If you have suggestions for future miniseries, let me know in a reply!

Critical thinking is reading about logical fallacies on Wikipedia for 15 minutes.

Unfortunately, for some people, it probably is.

Hello @davidpakman, very good work! I enjoy
Your posts Keep working well! I always read your nice content in Steemit! :)

Great introduction on critical thinking.... like of part of logic; it is high time to start looking into some generalized perceived truth...

Cool. Critical thinking skills should be taught more in schools.

Need a helping hand

Not sure about the steemit tagging system for videos as I don't create yet, but I would recommend more tags than the ones provided. What does "world" have to do with critical thinking? How about "thinking" or "empiricism" etc. ?

Nowadays we are part of a new age, named as the ''information age''.
Thus, it's important the education process, in all the stages (from the school until the university) to create a culture of into the students on how to understand, acquire the ability and increase their critical thinking.

In my opinion, we must keep in mind that Critical thinking plays a huge impact on the decision process.

One of my favorite and spiritual book about on this subject, which I highly recommend to everybody to read is DANIEL KAHNEMAN book, with the title: ''Thinking, Fast and Slow''. The book is a global bestseller. For more information, you can read Guardian article about the book.

As a German who read a lot about the Kant, you are using the term incorrectly. And by "you" I mean the American society as a whole.

You also don't understand logic. "Logical fallacies" have quite little to do with logic. I tutored logic at the university of cologne so its not like I don't know what Im talking about.

Critical Thinking actually just means that you don't believe in hard facts. The Matrix Theory that we could all just be halluzinating the world around us is the basis for the critical philosophy.

it sounds like you think we are defining critical thinking as some kind of relativism, which we absolutely are not. In any case, it seems you are experiencing some confusion.

nope, Americans just have no cultural and all their technological progress and philosophy is stolen and warped. That is why you are using words/definitions incorrectly.
