When installing WordPress on your own computer, we will always interact with several folders, including:
- htdocs
The location of this folder is located in C: \ xampp \ (or in the location where you installed XAMPP or other mini server). In this folder, where to install WordPress. Can be installed by creating your own folder in it, for example: blogku. Or, can directly install in htdocs so that later when opened in the browser, simply type http: // localhost (or http: // ipaddress address). Do not put installation files outside of this folder because we will not be possible to install anything. In this folder, we can install more than one WordPress or other web cms like Joomla !, mambo, or drupal by creating a folder according to the scripts that are installed. If without creating a folder, only one script is allowed.
- "template (themes)
This is where to install WordPress templates / themes. The location of the folder is in C: \ xampp \ htdocs \ [wordpress folder name] \ wp-content. If you have a collection of WordPress templates, can be directly extracted into this folder.
- plugins
WordPress without plugins seems less than optimal. Just like the theme, this folder is also located in C: \ xampp \ htdocs \ [wordpress folder name] \ wp content. All the plugin collections are in this folder that are distinguished by the corresponding folders named plugins. Extract the plugins folder you have into this folder. If installed online, it will automatically go into this folder.
- Additional Folders
If you want to add a folder (like a collection of images / files), place it in the folder C: \ xampp \ htdocs \ [wordpress folder name] \ wp content to make it easy to manage files when it's online. Make a folder in it according to the type of file to be placed.
In general, the folder above that we will often jamah. Other folders we might touch when required to modify further. If you do not understand php language, you should ignore it. If one modifies, the web we create will be messy or even error.
