January Bullet Journal set up & reflection

in blog •  7 years ago

I am sorry I haven't posted anything in the last few months. I am dealing with a couple of personal problems including recovering from a concussion during the holidays. But I am a sort of back and I am going to try and be stronger than ever. So, let's get down to business.

Since January is already over, I am going to show you my January BuJo overview and do some reflections on this month.

January in my Bullet Journal

January front page!

The first page is my front page for January. Because it was (and is) still winter, I wanted to capture that on my cover page. As I already told you guys I had set the goal for myself to always incorporate a Disney theme in my BuJo spreads. So I chose Olaf, because who doesn't like warm hugs by the pages of a (note)book, am I right!

Month at a glance

Next up we have "month at a glance." I have chosen for a vertical layout due to the fact I have one similar to this one in my personal planner. Yes, I use multiple planners. I tend to often be late, for very important dates. In this overview, I keep track of my appointments and plans so I can take notice when I plan out my daily spreads.

Budget Tracker

The budget tracker has a very simple layout. I can just fill in the date, the description and the amount. I made a row to see what I have left to spend, but you will have to know the amount you have started with, and I did not know that, oops!

Blog Ideas

The next page is dedicated to the ideas I have for this blog. The page is not empty anymore, although I have not written anything in weeks. I plan to pick this up though. But, I dedicated a page especially for this because I am quite the thinker, so if it isn't written down, it's gone.

So now the fun stuff!

After I browsed a bit (an hour or 5) on Pinterest, I came across these fun monthly checklists. They have all kinds of themes to-do's for the month and I collected all of them in my collection. To keep track of them I wrote them in my BuJo so I can write something nice next to it. I also put some pictures in there!

Gratitude log

I also did a lovely "gratitude'' page. For every day I write something of which I am grateful for to remind myself to look at the positive things in life. I am trying to incorporate some watercolors in my BuJo, and as you can see, this needs a little practice. (next month's Daisy Duck looks like her make up has run badly, hihi)

Mood Board

To finish my month I make a little mood board. I try to stick to the color of that month (which was blue) and also of what has happened. On this mood board you can see that it was pretty cold outside, sweater weather, on the couch with a cup of tea (no coffee, I can't handle the caffeïne) and just being cozy with everything besides me. I also decided to cut my hair, hence the picture of the woman with the bob and the quote of Coco Chanel. My teacher told me this quote and I won't forget it until I am completely myself again.

A little reflection goes a long way

January was quite a relaxed but mentally exhausting month.
I had some tests coming up, quit my internship and had just decided to get help with some mental problems.
I also am very determined to make this year a great year. I am not content with a good one, I want a GREAT one!

So I decided to cut my hair!
I had about 32 centimeters of hair to spare and I got fed up with it. Because I don't want my hair to get tossed in the trash, I donated it to a charity program which fabricates wigs for people who are fighting cancer and lost their hair in the process.
It also kind of represents a new start for me. Like my teacher said to me: ''A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life'' and heck yes I am about to change my life!

I need to focus more on the things that matter in life. Take care of myself and have a positive mindset. Go out, have fun, do whatever I want to do!

So January has passed, still 11 months to make this year amazing!

like, comment, subscribe and sprinkle some fairy dust!
