One day and one step at a time to a better you. I resent that feeling where I dread the beginning of the week. The goal of life isn’t to resent a new dawn and that includes Monday.
Here I am, willingly sharing my way to turn things around and surprisingly, it’s swinging things into motion in a positive way. The only way this would turn things around is if you’re consistent in following through with the attempts.
Sunday: Plan, sort and collect yourself.
I know Monday is considered the beginning of the week, but in reality, aren’t you already bracing yourself for the upcoming week on Sunday? On Sundays, plan out your week and lay out the schedule for the week. I start making lists and meticulously pencil in my appointments or plans for the upcoming week in a planner (yes, I know medieval to have an actual planner).
After that get yourself a cup of tea and go through your finances. Carefully go through all your bills, credit card and bank statements. See where you can cut corners and try to put yourself on a budget. That being said, start right then by meal prepping for the week.
I usually spend parts of my Sunday by picking outfits for the week, so I don’t panic when I’m rushing in the morning. Every night I drape one of those outfits over my chair and in the morning I can just wiggle into them. Finally, wrap up your Sunday with a good book or show or bath.
Monday: Grind day. Wake up early and keep a low profile, unless you’re sure about something.
Monday….is well Monday. First of all, my Achilles heel is my sleep. I love to sleep, but sleep doesn’t love me. My sleep is finicky and Monday mornings I’m always sleep deprived no matter how early I get to bed. I try to wake up earlier on Mondays to shake of daze and just get a few extra minutes to collect myself.
As for the day, I lay out two options in front of me. Either I attack every task with a vengeance or keep a low profile until I get drunk on caffeine. Bottom line: Keep a low profile on Monday if you’re not feeling up to it.
Tuesday: Productive snapback!
Hit Tuesdays hard. Work twice as hard on everything; work, homework, workout, cleaning, go grocery shopping or whatever is your priority. After work, I usually work out really hard or do laundry, something that is productive. You have to make up for having a lax Monday.
Wednesday: Balance creativity with chores, meditation, and a splendid meal. Wednesdays are hump days and there are only two options: either you mop and mourn OR make the best of your situation. Clean up your place, light chores. Then meditate to collect yourself. After that use your energy to create a nice home cooked meal, try a new recipe. Wednesdays inspire me, I tend to write a lot on this day.
Thursday: Keep it classy, make dinner plans or go to the movies.
Go out to dinner with family or friends. Logically, Thursday is the best night to have a date night (wink, wink).
Friday: Friday = Fries Yay!
I know, I know – but I can’t deal with Friday nightlife. I always have a really relaxed Friday. Living in LA my whole life, I don’t care about dealing with the crowds. I watch movies, get take out and/or take a bath. If you really want to relax and unwind, avoid the chaos.
Saturday: – Indulge in every vice
Saturday begins from Friday night. You do you on Saturday, let your freak fly. Yours truly focuses on running errand, cleaning up my place and sometimes I’ll make dinner plans in trending spot. Free advice for LA nightlife: If you live in LA and want to visit a trendy spot, make reservations first.
Sunday: – Revive, review and relax
Plan your week out, meal prep, layout your wardrobe for the week, and approach your week with a positive attitude.
As usual, I share what works for me. Feel free to share your ideas.
