The 60 day Journey; STEEM driven lessons!

in blog •  7 years ago

Technically, I'm two months old today on the STEEMIT blockchain and I think I should share bits of what my two months journey has been like.

I joined the community on 5th December 2017 and as I always said, I was really confused at the beginning. If you take a look at my first few posts you will see I was just trying to find my way around. Like I had said, I saw the media but could not find the social. I saw usernames but nowhere to message, no buzz, not wave, no nothing (lol). To be sincere I was was just like;

This did not go on for long however, why? Because I soon found a community, a place where I could talk to anyone and ask for help for free. People handed me handy information free of charge... spending their time and energy to give me directions as to how to go about STEEMING

I think that was on 10th or so when I found team Ghana on whatsapp through @kshemen and @tj4real and that was the day I begun to understand how this community works. Yes we were to interact with our work on the media and then socialize with the several communities build around it.

When you read an article that interest you, it is only fair that you upvote and/or leave a comment behind to encourage the author to keep working. As every writer would tell you, it is disheartening to spend hours on an article only for it to appear as though you were the only one who have read it. No matter how strongly motivated you are, this has the potential to slow you down. You will often wait to see a comment and as you wait, you will be like;

And then I realized that sometimes when you need more knowledge you need to meet and talk to people who are ahead you in what you seek. I therefore decided to attend the the maiden Ghana Steemit Meetup event in Sunyani which saw great Steemians from Nigeria @ejemai, @tojukaka, @gee1 and 4 others.
This was one of the events that fired me up to do more. I saw what the Nigerians were doing in their offline community, affecting lives in a progressively positive way and undertaking real life changing projects. There I realized I had the potential to be more with STEEMIT.

I learnt so much from their experiences and I got to meet with the leaders of teamghana @tj4real, @mcsamm, @anaman, @kwakumax @richforever and @collinz who motivated me even more with their words....

As I continued writing each day some SBDs and and SP started flowing in and straight I removed 40 SBD and bought a laptop hp envy m6 notebook.

I guess the laptop has been useful in helping me write more and more but that was not the reason I bought it, I bought it because I did not know what Steemit really meant.. I saw it as a place to milk coins from. I quickly started powering down my SP because I thought that was what it was all about until I met an article by @stackin which showed me that I needed to keep my SP going up and up. That time I had 30 STEEM in my wallet and I decided to power it all up. It moved me from 30SP to 60 SP and I saw I could now give 0.02 with my 100% vote.

Then I came across another article by @jerrybanfield stressing on why we should think of this platform as an investment rather than a pay check....and I started using other investment modules including voting bots....

Now I have accelerated the growth of my SP and I am now at 108 Sp. This happened because I decided to travel with @tj4real and @kshemen all the way from Tamale to Kumasi for the SGP....He shared with me a strategy in the bus and I have decided to power up equal amounts each day and never miss no matter what happens...

In this journey I have shared a lot and I have read even more...I have met a lot of wonderful people who have helped me in one way or another and I wished I could mention everyone here. The journey has been so good and I am happy I am still in the bus....I will continue to meet people, touch lives and keep sharing....
Thanks for being with me

I will continue this narration later on today, thanks again for your attention and let me know what you think about my journey.

Good luck, this is very inspiring! I am month old and I am very demotivated to receive 1 cent per a video I spent on a lot of time. You give me hope!

I am very glad you found motivation from this. Lets endeavor to keep creating more value...we shall get there when our value will be duly appreciated

Its just been two months and yet u have come so far. I always knew this kind of platform was for people like us (especially you.). I am about 3 weeks now and I can only hope to get to where you are now in 2 months. Perhaps I will have to come by for a few tips. Thanks for sharing bro.
