Assume Responsibility, Assume Control : take an action!!

It's not your fault? Well how are you gonna fix it then?

As always you can watch the video first, and then read the blog or do both :)

It's Not About Blame, It's About Control
Hey listen, you can whine as much as you want about leafs laying around in your street that came from your neighbours tree, and you may be right, it's her tree and she has to clean them up. Guess what? They might or they may not. If you assume responsibility of keeping your street clean you grab a broom and throw them out and Guess What? Your street is clean.

Ow it's not our responsibility, it's not our fault, someone else should take care of it, yeah yeah, bla bla bla. If you really want something to change, you have to assume responsibility and do it yourself.

Take Action
You want to make sure you can pay your mortgage? Don't rely on your boss not to fire you, create multiple income streams?

You want your marriage to succeed. Don't rely on your husband not to cheat on you, make sure he doesn't want to.

You want to not get caught drunk driving. Don't rely on the cops to be at the Dunkin Donut, simply do not get behind the wheel.

You want revenue to go up for your sales team? Don't rely on your agents to figure out how, show them the way.

Don't Overdo It
I'm not saying you should become Mother Theresa over here and assume blame or responsibility for everything you notice around you. Just do so when you want to be in control. There is no point in trying to take care of everything. Yet if something is important to you, why wouldn't you want to be in control? So go out and find some stuff that you thought wasn't in your jurisdiction and expand it, to include all the things that matter to you!
