Tips to Stay Safe on Internet
Who don’t want to stay safe on his Virtual world? These days hacking, scamming, phishing are the common words to internet users which hamper our safety on web world. Last few days, I have heard these words from my nearest people too much. I saw that they are confused and worried about internet security. That’s why I am feeling the necessity to write down something on how to stay safe on internet. Hope it will be helpful for all. Let’s go through my writing.
Create Strong Password:
We use passwords to protect our social IDs and accounts. So, strong passwords may safeguard your accounts effectively. You all know that there are some conditions to make a password strong. To set a strong password should take at least eight characters included upper and lowercase letters, numbers and special characters like @, #, $, % etc.
Keep your Computer & Mobile software Up to date:
Another important step to be safe on internet is to keep the computer and mobile software updated. You can turn on automatic updates so that you don’t have to think about it always. Set your security software to run regular scans. Set latest security software to run regular scans. Latest security software is the best defenses for web browsers and OSes for different online threats.
Be Careful About Your Internet Connection:
Be careful before using public Wi-Fi connection. When using public Wi-Fi, just be more careful about the files you are going to share or the websites you are going to visit. You can install some VPN (Virtual Private Network) software if you don’t have yet.
Be Careful About Sharing Personal Information:
We are sharing a lot of personal information in our social networking media sites these days. But we should be careful about sharing our personal info like birthdays, addresses, phone numbers, and mother’s maiden name etc. Because hackers may use these info from our media profile to find out our passwords or answers of the security questions.
Try to Practice Safe Shopping:
Before shopping online or visiting websites for any kind of services like banking or other sensitive transactions, just check not whether the address begins with https and if there has a padlock icon in the URL field. These indicate that the website is secure and safe to visit.
Final Thoughts
There’s actually nothing to be much worried about the web security. You just have to know about the threats on Internet and be careful about the threats when using internet. Then it will be really fun for you to surf into internet. We all know that it’s always better to be safe than sorry. So, be careful and enjoy safe surfing on internet.
