For the third year I've been watching an interesting topic on a profile forum, where the author of the topic - Denis introduces readers to his hobby. Denis is keen on 3D modeling and creates 3D models of river passenger ships. I can not help but talk about this wonderful hobby :) Denis gave me his images and kindly agreed on the pages of my magazine to introduce readers to his hobby. There will be questions, ask them to Denis. I think that he will answer them here in the comments.
The process of creating a 3D model of the ship is long and complex. For example, the motor ship "Altai" Denis modeled four months! The choice of this motor ship for modeling is not accidental. The author traveled on it in 1990. In the mid-nineties, the ship was decommissioned and disposed of, but found a new embodiment in the 3D model of Denis.
Here, the model was "brought to mind." Reduced the size of the portholes, inscribed the ship in the landscape and placed on the decks of passengers.
The motor ship "Altai". Photo "under the old days".
A view of the motor ship "Altai" leaving with passengers.
One of the 3D passenger ship of the ship.
And this is the first work of Denis. Six-seater pleasure boat on hydrofoils "Volga". Also with the passengers.
Another 3D model of the author. The motor ship Moskvich. Completed in 3D Studio MAX.
I would not refuse to put such a model in my closet. It will be necessary to learn more about 3D printers :)
A couple more species of "Moskvich" project 544.
A river tram runs along the Moskva River on the background of the Smolenskaya embankment.
If the motor ships of the 588 project and the Moskvich river trams can still be seen live on rivers, then the next 3D model presented by Denis remained only in photos and newsreel frames. Meet me. Three-dimensional computer model of the diesel-electric ship "Lenin".
Working moments of creating a model of the "Lenin".
Deck furniture is arranged.
View to the port side.
On the middle deck a representative of the Volga Shipping Company. Welcome aboard the diesel-electric ship "Lenin"! :)
Working moments. Choice of model and skin color.
The nasal part of the "Lenin".

Boat deck.
Visualization of the model.
And here Denis decided to revive the river landscape. A buoy simulated.
Buy in the afternoon.
Buy at night. By the way, I liked the 3D images. There are no different obstacles that arise in real photographs. For example, there are no stains from dirt on the matrix.
On this visa, the d / e "Lenin" goes upstream; The white buoy restricts the left edge of the ship's run.
Another project of Denis. I hope that it is not the last one :) Denis decided to get the boat "Alexander Suvorov" frozen. This is how the geometrical model of the surface of the hull is created. According to the drawings, line by line, all handles. This is not an easy task.
Work on the body is almost complete. Even under each porthole the cutout is made!
A top view of the nose of the future "crocodile".
Tank of the ship.
Experiments with paint.
Another view of the tank.
The 3D model of the ship would not be complete without the model of the motor boat "Kazanka", which should be placed at the stern of the ship. I had to simulate it.
Almost finished 3D model of the ship "Alexander Suvorov."
And here I do not agree with Denis. Pay attention to the boats and awning at the stern of the boat deck. "Alexander Suvorov" is notorious for the fact that on June 5, 1983, at full speed, went under the non-navigable flight of the Ulyanovsk bridge across the Volga and touched it. As a result of the collision, the wheelhouse was completely demolished, a cinema hall and pipes of the ship were full of tourists. After the catastrophe, the ship was brought into the "40 years of October" gully, then they were sent to repair in the city of Kiliya. At that time, the shipbuilding plant of the city of Kiliya produced tankers "Volgoneft" for which fire-protected closed motorbikes put. These motorbats were installed instead of conventional boats on the ship "Alexander Suvorov." Those. If this model of the ship "Alexander Suvorov" after 1984, then instead of the boats should be orange covered motorbikes. And if it is a model of a motor ship before June 5, 1983, then there was not any awning at the stern of the boat deck yet.
Such covered motobots are now installed on "Alexander Suvorov".
"Kazanka" at the stern.
What all three-dimensional :)
"Suvorov" flyway management visa.
Final visualization.
Here is an interesting hobby of Denis. If anyone interested in his 3D model, then I will email Denis for communication: [email protected]. Have questions? Ask in the comments. I invite Denis here :)
