Mix Rice - Lunch With Friends

I was quite busy this week, one of my good friend just had surgery, I was there in the hospital to accompany her. Thanks God, she’s getting well now.

And...I also just met new friend who lives out of town, she was just here in town for visiting her husband. We had simple Indonesian lunch at my really good friend, Nita.

She made “Nasi Campur” or mix rice, which is a very Indonesian meals.

It reminds me, back then when I still live in Indonesia, I almost eat mix rice everyday. But instead of cooking it myself, I just ordered it online or just go to the shops/warung, because I didn’t have time to cook, I was working a lot, like 6 days a week from 8am to 10pm. So I spend most of time at my work place.
plus, is so much easier and cheaper to order the food in Indonesia especially when you have high working hours like I did.

Rice, sambal/homemade chili sauce, fried fish, fried egg plants, fried tofu and tempeh, kerupuk/ Indonesian crackers and sautéed bitter gourd in a PLATE, it’s heaven to me! 😁

Indonesian must have food, fried tofu and tempeh.

Sauté butter gourd is always be my favorite veggies.

Like, as Indonesian most of us loves this fried egg plants serve with sambal and rice.

And to complete the meals, kerupuk/Indonesian cracker it has to be there.

We had lunch with few friends and at the same time talked about our weekend gathering.
And yeah... my friend and I had a quite big gathering this afternoon, so I guess my next blog is gonna be all about lunch gathering with friends.
