Powering down to pay for my eyes surgery: update. I MADE THE FIRST OPERATION TODAY, HOORAY!:)

in blog •  7 years ago

Hi guys!

I wasn't sure that I will be able to write a post in the evening, so in my previous one I promised to tell everything tomorrow. But seems like I'm completely capable of doing it today!:)

So here I'd like to share everything about my first surgery I made today, about six hours ago.

I arrived to the hospital an hour earlier then I should. Since I was really nervous and didn't want to be late, I really miscalculated time. Luckily they had only a few patients, so work with me began immediately.

The first thing I should make was a test to figure out how goo is my peripheral vision. And, spoilers, it's perfect:) Seems like it was the only perfect thing with my eyes.

It's really interesting how this test is performed. You look in the center of hemisphere with one eye. It has a light in the center, and you look at it. In the hands you have a manipulator with one button. Then they turn the lights off, and in different placed inside the sphere lights appear, small dots. But you have to look only straight. Every time you notice the small lights you have to push the button in your hand. So it's really like a computer game:) I passed three circles of it with 100% result. Here is it if you're interested:) All the zeros at the photos reflect the positions of light I saw, for each eye:

Then my preparation for operation itself began. They had to make my eye pupils wide again, so for an hour I was sitting in the hall, and every 15 minutes the nurse put special drops to my eyes. In the end I looked as a demon from Supernatural again. This time I even took a photo after everything was done. Imagine how wide my eye pupils were if on this photo they're already smaller:)

Yep, it's already after operation, and I look like walking dead. Whatever, my first operation is behind!:)

After my pupils got wide I was taken to the doctor. To finally fix my retina, so that later I would be able to make the second operation.

They promised it will not hurt. LIES!

The whole process really took 2-3 minutes, plus 5 minutes for anesthesia. And yes, in the beginning, when they put a lens to fix your eye opened, and first few laser splashes are painless. But all the others... Oh my God, it feels like someone is trying to get your eye outside your scull. Great that it really doesn't take long.

When anesthesia stops acting you feel thread in your eyes. And bonus effect, all objects that radiate light have a aureole around them. So if at normal state I see lights of cars, for example, like this:

After surgery you see like this:

But it's a temporary effect.

Now I have two weeks to prepare for the next surgery. Thank you everyone who supports me in this complicated period, you're the best, guys!

I wish you all the best and will be happy if you'll support me with vote:)

Love, Inber

Awesome very glad to hear it is going well! That hazy look has got to be the best lol

Ha-ha:) It really was even wider before the operation, but I had no possibility to take a photo, I started seeing my phone only after a few hours:)

Good news @inber at least all went well...

I do this test above too almost every 2 months and its quite anoying due to the time I click on lights..haha
Good result, am glad for you and fingers crossed for the next operation.

Thank you!:) Why every two months?

You are welcome. Because I had tough Glycoma .. but all is well now and I go just for check up which cost me only time haha. My insurance pays for all.

Oh, I see. My first guess was that may be you're a pilot:) It was the first time in my life I passed such test, I even didn't knew it exists:)
My insurance doesn't pay for such cases:(

I know that in Ukraine you pay from your pocket for such cases, however thank goodness that all went well and am sure the next one will go well too...no need to panic my dear one. You will feel great after the whole process....fingers crossed

I really hope so! Important that now I'm still able to draw, after the second one I will not be for a week or so. So now I'll put all effort to draw "in advance", don't want to break my every day posting tradition:)

Great, however think first about your health because money will always come !!! so even if you post 3 times a week ( Like me, I post 3 times a week) after your eye operation, you will still be great and then when your eye heals well then you can be posting once a day!!! Heath is wealth

You're absolutely right:)

Well done you, glad the 1st one is over :)

Hooray!:) Now a bit of waiting, and I hope I'll have my vision back even before Halloween:)

You will be celebrating very soon :)

I think I'll get lost for a week:) Somewhere in the city, WATCHING at everything:)

Thank you for the update. I am following your story with interest. I am glad everything went well, except for the pain.

Seems like it worth it. Of course I will know later, but since at the moment I feel quite fine - at least I didn't break anything. Now for two weeks I'm not allowed to do any physical activity, but... I'm still allowed to draw:)

That's amazing. I am so happy for you.

Good luck! I hope that the surgery makes your eyes better than before!

Thank you:)

Nice story
Thank you
@keval
Voted you
If you have little time..see my post

Wow, you must be glad the first one is over. I'm sure that it will all be worth it. I am really interested in reading about both your surgeries since I too will have similar done possibly next year.

I will write about the second one when I'll do it:) Now I need to wait for at least two weeks after the first one:)

good luck dear

Thank you:)

I am very impressed with you, in the condition after surgery, you are still able to make a post. you include a writer who has a high commitment in writing

Or a happy person who wants to share great news!:) I really was sure I will not be able to do it. But I feel good enough, so why not?:)

Happy for you! Good luck with the next surgery. Cool that you can use steem to fix your eyes :)

Yes, it's really great! Thank you!:)

I'm proud I helped in previous post. I'm glad you got your surgery. :) Upvoted and resteemed. ;)

Thank you my dear friend:)

I'm so glad to hear you had a good experience!

Yes, it was less scary then I thought:) Now at least I know that the second one is almost the same by feelings:)

So glad the surgery went well @inber...on to the next :)

Thank you:) I'm so happy about it, now waiting for the next one impatiently, to finish this all:)

Glad to hear all went well! Sorry it hurt!

Hurt, but really not for long:) It felt like... Well, like they were making tattoo on my eye, or like laser epilation lol:)

I'm really glad to hear all it's going well, @inber ! An hug from me!

Thank you! I'm so happy about it - can't even say:) Now I'm waiting for the second one impatiently:)

I can understand you! One of my friend had a similar surgery, and she said me that after operations (and the usual time to recovery) all it was great and now her eyes can look every details around her!!! Great!

I will get this only after the second one:) Would do it right now if I could:)

I'm glad to hear that all went well!

I hope your sight comes back to normal and you're not seeing glowing objects when you look at computer screens or phones!

Just think about how awesome your art will look in the future after this process is done!? You'll be able to see (and draw) even more details :)

I hope so:) Waiting for the second one impatiently:)

Oh friend I am so happy for you. You are a brave girl, please take care of yourself friend, if possible take rest. All the very best.

At the moment I have to work to earn the second surgery:) But it's easier now, I already believe it's possible:)
Thank you for your support!

I am so happy that this one is over with and I know you are so much more happier than me! At least you get a break for 2 weeks now. Love the picture of your eyes dilated. : )
