A Journey in an ancient region of India(Temples Of Chhattisgarh)

National Park, Wild Life Sanctuaries and also the famous tribal culture of Bastar, legacy of an ancient temples and it's sculpture is the most prime attraction.

The first half of the 19th century serve as headquarters of eastern circle of British Central Provinces, east of Raipur, the temple trail begins modestly with small but sophisticated Bhand Dewal Temple, hemmed in but not encroached upon by the village of 'Arang', many structure houses are an interesting combination of black stoned 'Jain Tirthankaras' and the hindu heavenliens, on the banks of the Mahanadi, lies Sisrpur, one of the main centers of religious architecture, here are ruins of an ancient Buddhist Monastery and also Chaitya Hall, the end of which meditates another massive rendition of he Enlightened one.

Gandeshwar Temple is Sirpur's largest, that there are close 35 temples in this cluster and each has it's own priestly retinue.

The south of Sirpur, the Mahanadi confluences with 'Sonu' and the 'Pyari', provides the setting for the another eruption of faith, the bustling town of Rajim enfolds the towering spires with the whitewashed Rajivlochana Temple, when it's entered through a grand gate, the images of doorway of the Baraha and Narasimha Avatars are preserved, finally the Jagannath, Subhadra and Balaram sanctum leads.

Of the 11th century Vintage, Bhoramdeo temple looms within mango grove, it's an carves and angels gloriously highlight of the unique architectural style of the region cross between receding 'mountain range' Shikharas of the Khajuraho genre and the short blocked curvilinear Orissa form, the stone facade drips with magnificent sculpture.

Due to the South Raipur it's an heart of Bastar, the random village of Barsur emerges suddenly the edge of an forest, it's divine quadrilateral as four temples each are unique, from the 11th to 12th century, when the Chhindaka Nagas held sway over the area. As an the first battisi Mahal, Survives mainly it's signature feature of 32 columns, the rock solid bellies well fed twin Ganeshas as any indications as second is much better then the third is called Uncle and Nephew (Chacha Bhatija) looks fine fettle, it's an finely carved structure rising sturdily by an bending the plam it's an last one, devoted to the Destroyer which is most striking.

The rectangular planned temple of the 13th century Kakatiya tutelary is relatively new, with an long mandapa precending it's tunnel like womb from where the deity glares darkly. The Town of Dantewara, near Barsur, is home of the Danteshwari Mata, as an aspect of Maheshasura Mardini and Chattisgarh's most revered divinity.(The spoonful of holy water is garnished with petals as prasad).
