Blue Moon ice cream is a typically found in the Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan area. You may be able to find it other places also. We found the Hudsonville ice cream on sale so we got some.

Anyone who has tried Superman ice cream has confessed that it is their favorite. And the best flavor in Superman is the blue part - so if you want the "Blue" superman experience all by itself, Blue Moon is answer.
The Mystery of Blue Moon
The mystery has always been, "what is that flavor?" Some have described it as a 'creamy' raspberry, almond and nutmeg flavor. Sort of like a blue fruity eggnog. Sounds awful, but when you try it, it's delicious and strangely addicting. But what are the actual flavors? Nobody knows for sure, but there are many theories out there.

That's the way my wife describes it... to me it tastes a little like blue colored eggnog. Do you taste lemon in blue moon or is that just my imagination? @ironshield

Sounds mighty tasty. I'm a big fan of ice cream but we don't have it often here. Dairy is expensive and no one really does ice cream well! The stores don't know how to store it correctly so it doesn't crystallize. That ice cream does sound delicious though and I can tell the kids love it. In Texas, we have Blue Bell which is tasty. I'd give yours a try though, that's for sure!! :)

Growing up this was my favorite ice-cream. Not too long ago we took our kiddos to an ice-cream parlor and of course they were drawn to the brilliant blue color of the "blue moon" ice-cream. I really wanted to know what flavor it really was, so I asked. The lady told me to come close so she could whisper into my ear, and she said, "Shhhh, it's only vanilla ice-cream with food coloring." Really?!!!
