What are you doing right now?; Same thing as always; But that looks like an old video game; do you know why videogames are considered art?; because it takes a lot of effort to make them?; well yeah...but it's because they share a very important characteristic, and that is the use of imagination. I recommend to you that you listen to the whole video, you'll notice that the different songs communicate a different thing but keeping the same vibe like each song was a different tone of the same color. Red, pink, red wine, burgundy.

Thus making “music” videogames a kind of an art-ception thing? Because you’re already mixing one type of art with another. I can get how people don’t think of video games as art, it’s because of the way you interact with them. In singing you use your voice and vocal chords, dancing you move your body, writing you express feelings with words, and to interact with a video game what do you do? You play it. But what people often see is a person in front of a screen pushing buttons on a controller. Although it’s not too different if you get to people’s interaction with movies (and that’s an already consecrated form of art). It’s about the experience, I’ve known people who say that a particular movie changed their lives. If that can happen with a person sitting quietly in front of a screen for about 2 hours, why not consider the same can happen with videogames?

If you haven't considered videogames as dinamic and interactive pieces of art, there's a whole world of possibilities that you're missing. Video games genres range as much as movie genres. Cience fiction? Sure. Horror? Of course. Fantasy? One the most populars. Videogames have evolved enough to get rid off the label of just being violent, that topic already has a rancid smell like those people who till this day of the XXIst century believe that vaccines are part of a conspiracy (yes, I'm not kidding). If you have never played a videogame, even better, you'll have your first experience and I will make sure you have a good one.

Even if you have a shitty computer, you still can do a lot with old school videogames, you can find beautiful and well designed games like Chrono Trigger back in the PlayStation 1, or maybe try some Castlevania on Super Nintendo. I assure you that if you pay enough attention to the music, scenery, characters, images and plot, you can see that there are very complex stories in old videogames out there. The same kind of stories you would read about in a best seller book, or maybe adapted to a movie. Just don’t miss the opportunity of finding a new hobby, after all, when was the last time you felt happy as a little kid?

Que estás haciendo ahora?; Lo mismo de siempre; Pero eso se ve como un viejo videojuego; ¿sabes por qué los videojuegos son considerados arte?; **¿porque se requiere un gran esfuerzo para crearlos?; ** Bueno...si, pero es porque comparten una característica muy importante, y esa es el uso de la imaginación. Te recomiendo que escuches todo el video, te fijaras que las distintas canciones transmiten un sentido distinto pero manteniendo la misma vibra, como si cada canción fuese un tono distinto de un mismo color. Rojo, rosado, vinotinto, borgoña.

De esa forma haciendo que los videojuegos "musicales" sean algo asi como un arte-ception? Porque ya estas mezclando un tipo de arte con otro. Puedo entender como la gente no piensa en los videojuegos como arte, es por la forma en la que interactuas con ellos. Cantando usas tu voz y cuerdas vocales, bailando mueves tu cuerpo, escribiendo expresas sentimientos con palabras, y para interactuar con un videojuego, ¿qué es lo que haces? Lo juegas. Pero lo que la gente ve a menudo es a una persona en frente de una pantalla presionando botones en un control. Aunque no es muy diferente si te vas a la interaccion de la gente con las peliculas (y esa es ya una forma consagrada de arte). Es acerca de la experiencia, he conocido gente que dice que una pelicula en particular ha cambiado sus vidas. Si eso puede suceder con una persona sentada silenciosamente en frente de una pantalla por al menos 2 horas, ¿por qué no considerar que lo mismo puede suceder con los videojuegos?

Si nunca en tu vida has considerado los videojuegos como obras de arte dinámicas e interactivas, hay un mundo de posibilidades del que te estás perdiendo. Los géneros de videojuego varían tanto como aquellos de películas. Ciencia ficción? Seguro. Terror? Por supuesto. Fantasía? De los más populares. Los videojuegos han evolucionado lo suficiente como para poder quitarse la etiqueta de ser solo violentos y adoctrinadores, ese tema ya tiene un olor rancio como las personas que aun hoy en pleno Siglo XXI creen que las vacunas son parte de una conspiración (sí, no bromeo). Si nunca has jugado algún videojuego, mejor aún, tendrás tu primera experiencia y yo me encargaré de que sea una buena.

Incluso si tienes una vieja computadora, aun puedes hacer bastante con videojuegos "vieja escuela", puedes encontrar juegos hermosos y bien diseñados como Chrono Trigger en la PlayStation 1, o tal vez intentar jugar algun Castlevania en Super Nintendo. Te aseguro que si prestas suficiente atencion a la musica, escenario, personajes, imagenes y trama, podras ver que hay algunas historias complejas en antiguos videojuegos ahi fuera. El mismo tipo de historias que podrias leer en un libro best seller, o tal vez adaptado a una pelicula. Solo no te pierdas la oportunidad de encontrar un nuevo hobby, despues de todo, cuando fue la ultima vez que te sentiste feliz como un pequeño niño?
