who I wanted to become

To be honest, I never thought I would want to be a teacher when I was younger. I thought I would become an astronaut or a policeman, an engineer or a doctor. I felt that the teacher in front of the class never had any feelings towards their subject nor their class, but it all slowly started changing as I grew older and wiser. I started noticing why teachers love doing their job and why some continue working on becoming a better teacher for almost 30+ years.

teaching? why?

Well, there are some basic points as to why I want to be a teacher, specifically teaching a humanitarian subject:

It's nice to see children and teenagers opening their minds through creative writing.

What struck me when writing all those book reviews and literary pieces in my Estonian class was that I am a whole another person when writing rather than talking. A whole new world opens up right before my eyes and I can actually sense what the reader would like to see and what not. A fun fact: I have almost never written drafts for my literary pieces, I always just let my words flow and hope to see a nice outcome.

humanitarian subjects will never fail you

There is a lot of fuss going around about robots and AI taking over the world. And the essential tests they need to take in order to pass for "seemingly human" are specifically humanitarian - can they think critically, can they be artistic, can they make the right decisions etc. With robots, those parameters are mostly based on mathematics and science, but when mankind can inject some humanitarianism into those robots... they have perhaps succeeded. Until then, a human is defined by what makes him human, which are, in my opinion, those humanitarian subjects they are taught from birth.

As I said before, I love it when people open up their minds and speak from their heart, but sometimes, it isn't necessary. Sometimes you need to take your heart into your hands and capture it and not let it fly away because if it does, you will never get it back. You should take into consideration the freedom that your heart has, but never let it feel free on its own, but in conjunction with the mind and the body. Humanitarian subjects and teaching them, exploring your whole self is specifically what makes the heart, the mind, and the body work together in harmony.

Who did you want to become when you were younger? Do you think your dreams were just thoughts or are you really fulfilling them?

Oh, and also... have you ever thought of becoming a teacher? If yes, then which subject? I'm dying to know.
