They say life isn't just about money or 'stuff'... That it's all about the journey or relationships, and I would tend to agree with that to a certain extent. Life is definitely about experiencing the progression of time in conjunction with human interaction. My journey thus far has brought me to a broader awareness of myself; who I was 10 years ago, 1 year ago, and now progressing thru yet another birthday.
A year ago today I turned 33, and less than a week later I got married. In a sense I guess one could say that I died at 33, having only been a father for 9 months and then suddenly 'birthed' into matrimony, I was no longer just some dude that came and went, traveling across the U.S. from couch to couch, partying here or there, committed only to what I could get for as little output as possible. That boy died, and in less than a year a husband and father was 'born'.
When my daughter was born it was the craziest experience of my life, watching a girl I had just fallen in love with a year prior, push out a life and request Taco Bell for breakfast. Marrying that girl was the best experience of my life. But the road leading to that exchange of vows and rings was a treacherous one and I'm still hesitant to share that experience. But with the recent events that have transpired and the market taking a 'bearish' turn, I cannot help but to reflect back on my posts about Bitcoin/Life synchronicity and how they still apply to events going on in my life to this day.
If you have ever followed my posts than you know me as a streamer. Unfortunately, no streams have been produced since the days when DLive was around these parts, and because of the events that had transpired my wife and I refrained from streaming until the dust had settled. But shortly after her and I began to long for the #streamlife once again, my 4 year-old GTX 970 FTW edition decided it had produced it's last pixel. Since then I had been reduced from 3 monitors to 1 and since then I was lucky enough to be able to play #Rimworld (which I am closing in on 700 hours). On top of that we had to move out of the home we loved from the day we moved in, and back into the house we had originally moved from!
So, this is where we are today. Back where it all began...
So, we're all moved into the new/old house and just a few days ago my wife and I pulled enough funds together to purchase a secondhand 1050 that's actually not too bad. I was reluctant at first to consider a 1050, since 1060s have been known to outperform 970s, but $80 was too good a deal to pass up since everyone I had contacted about 1060s in my area were practically non-responsive. Another upside to the 1050 is I can mine with a much better efficiency than my old 970 that gobbled up over 300 watts. I'm back up to 2 monitors and I can play most games on half-decent settings.
Are you seeing a trend yet?
In my mind when I think of these things I can quite literally see the candles forming, and if you saw this on a Bitcoin chart it might trip you out a bit. So, I will still continue the series on the synchronicity of life and Bitcoin even though I'm reluctant to do so, I said I would do it regardless of how I felt others would come to perceive me. I will be posting more often now that we are settling in to the new/old house, and with that we should be able to stream again as well. So, I hope that you all are enjoying the winter season of over-spending on products to line the pockets of the conglomerates that exploit the lie that is "Christmas"... Oops. I should stop, shouldn't I?
Joe!
