As much as we fancy innovative platforms like steem that actually rewards you for posting blogs, a question arises -
do people read as much as people post?
Every time i go through the 'New posts' menu i get bombarded by tonnes of posts that presumably are meant for me to read and comment/upvote etc. With all true honesty though i just scroll through skimming and maybe picking up topics randomly like one out of ten posts and even those don't compel me good enough for me to want to open, read and upvote etc.
General i think it is a psychological adaptation thing that people have nowadays. Our brains prefer simpler, less challenging and fun activities like watching or listening. Me personally i prefer visually shared information to written.
I do agree there are 'read freaks' out there and also informative posts too that deserve all the hype and votes but majority of the posts are generally addressed or regarded as 'others'. Also people tend to focus and interact mostly with 'trending' posts and not necessarily quality posts.
We post more than we read, maybe we ought to regard highly and reward readers/content consumers just as much as we reward article creators. This way maybe we can create a balance or whats your take?
