Urban Dictionary Word of the Day:
Shit and run
When someone walks their dog, but does not bring a bag with which to clean up the poop, and has to flee the scene. Having no intention of cleaning up after your dog.
Friend: "Man, that dude's dog just shit in my yard and he didn't clean it up!" Me: "Oh! It was a shit and run!"

A week ago today I wrote a Walmart Rant and after a week, I guess I have yet another spicy Walmart Rant to drop by you all. This time I will try give a fair balance of my experience at Walmart today because it wouldn't be right to recognize the valid good things that happen while I work there. I am going to break it into three different parts: Issues with Personell Change, Issues with Management, and the Positives. Depending on length, I will make this a three part series.
====== Management is Abusing Power! ====

First
I have issues with two specific CSMs, one of which is most certainly worse than the other. They both are a part of the *** clique, namely the two people the clique is named after. I've already discussed the icnident where she yelled at me over asking help processing a "check" which was a five-dollar grocery coupon. As a quick refresher, I ran it as a coupon and she came buy because it was more than the max amount I can deduct through a coupon. She lashed out at me yelling,
"This isn't a coupon! You have to read the fine print to know it is a check! I don't have time to read these things for you!" and the customers apologized for me and complained to another manager. It seemed as if things were going fine after that.... until there are no other managers around.

Second
That's when the next incident occurred where she barked at me for asking for a wet cleanup after a customer said that the bathrooms were messy. She barked,
If there is a wet clean up, you need to clean it!
I don't clean up bathrooms. They aren't in my loosely followed and often times broken job description. That is the job of maintence.
And this will come important on the next one, but I cannot leave my area.

Final Prelude
Yesterday I had two incidents of her irrationally lashing our against me. The first one was surprisingly in mid-day and even near other management including managers above her. So, it started when one fo the machines was malfunctioning. The coin dispenser wasn't working and I had to call her over to try fix it. After several unsuccessful attempts, she asked me to ring up the customer on another machine and I foolishly asked a question. On the screen there were two prompts: "Try Again" and "Notify a CSM and Put in Cards Only Mode". As her attempts to fix it failed several times, I asked, "will you be putting the machine in cards only mode?" She calmly said no and restarted the machine.
Let's rewind a while back to incidents where machines would break down and I would call a different manager to help fix it. The manager would tell me to restart it and moments later, the manager being discussed would walk by and bark at me for restarting the machine, claiming it was the reason it broke so often.
- I was told by a manager to restart the machine
A. The manager later returned to claim that I was not told to restart it, but to wait for it to be restarted
B. Manager B clearly was trying to cover her rear end, but I digress
C. Restarting the machine seems to be the typical procedure - The machine was malfunctioning before it needed to be constantly restarted
- Everytime it needed to be restarted I would need to ring up customers again which leads to many customers being angry... because God forbid we close a machine or put it in Card Only Mode or Cash Only Mode (depending on the issue)... which leads me back to yesterday:

Final Conclusion
About fifteen minutes later, I walked passed the manager and tried to engage in small talk. Asked her if she was closing that day and who was working untill 10 PM with her. When she randomly barks at me:
We never put machines in Cards Only Mode!
This was random, uncalled for, AND I DIDN'T EVEN PUT IT IN CARDS ONLY MODE! I LITTERALLY JUST ASKED IF SHE WOULD!
Later that evening she yelled at me again... It was near the end of my shift and my replacement was walking over with a cart full of trash. I walked to the corner of the self-checkout to empty my trash in the larger trash bag and replace my bag when she yelled,
Jonathan! You have customers! You cannot wander off!
- I wasn't wandering off, I was literally replacing trash bags
- I wasn't leaving my area as I was still within the self-checkout box
- I clearly had eyes on the people checkign out.
When she left, the customers apologized that my manager yelled at me like that. I simply said,
Don't worry, it's not your fault.
