in blog •  7 years ago

The Netherlands is plentiful in fresh water, the many dikes allow the Dutch to control the water as the like and reclaim land from the sea.

Looks good, great shot ;)

From what Adam Curry tells me it’s the best system in the world! No other nation built a system like the Netherlands 🇳🇱
👍

Hi sir, i'm here and I see your post, it's really awesome post

Very nice place and impressive sunset, nice shot !

When I was little I read a story about a little boy who saved a city from getting flooded by trying to stop.the flow.of the water with his finger. There was a hole.in the dkke wall.

There's a picture of the boy. It's in the Hague at Maduradam. :-)

Great post @juliank you encourage me to will visit Netherlands

I had the pleasure to spend a few months in the Hague. I enjoyed it a lot. I had a bicycle and I could discover the whole city and the surroundings. It was a piece of cake to travel inside the country by train, so I can just suggest you to visit the Netherlands.

Heh, as a cyclist all I can think about is how sketchy that shoulder is! :o
Biking up on or beside dikes though is always a pleasure!

great photo, tell me one thing, are there ever issues with water overflowing to streets or property, or is it under control?

Seems like here would work also a long exposure try out. I am thinking a partially clouded sky, to catch their movement as the water in the ditch becomes a thin layer of steam. I am a little bit distracted by the blue protruding thing in the center-left of the image. Cool sunrise shot!

God created beautiful world for us,
