It's google's birthday today, well at least one of the many Google Birthdays we celebrate every year.

Can you imagine a life without the most used search engine in the world? I can't. I mean life can get pretty difficult. But on the other hand, humans are certainly known to adapt. Whatever be the case, Google's user base is around 4.5 billion in around 160 countries across the world. So it must be doing something right!

So to celebrate its birthday, the IT behemoth has launched an interactive doodle game which is basically a spinner that lets you play several of its famous past doodle games. Way to go Google - you gave us more addictive ways to waste our time online. To can find a list of the games, check here.

Here are some interesting facts worth knowing about this internet giant:

1. Google's name is derived from the mathematical term 'Googol' which represents 1 followed by a 100 zeros.

2. Google was originally named "Backrub" by its founders.

3. Google's first Google Doodle came out in 1998 - a Burning Man Stick Figure.

4. Google's unofficial slogan is "Don’t be evil”.

5. Google's founders had decided to sell Google for US$1 million to a company called Excite. This was in the year 1999. And the company's CEO refused!

6. Google can currently process around millions of pages/second. In the initial days, the speed was 30-40 pages.

7. Google became the world’s largest search engine in the year June 2000.

8. Want to watch a map of Mars - go to Google Mars. Or maybe you would like to do some star gazing. Then go to Google Sky Maps.

9. Google rents actual goats to mow their lawns and fields. Why? Because its way cooler.
