Since late this summer, I've been following Rakesh Upadhyay's Price Analysis on The CoinTelegraph and he has been remarkably accurate. Initially, his posts about Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin were the ones that caught my eye.
Over the past month or so, with increased populartiy and the influx new users in the crypto scene, he's expanded his analysis to include BCH, Ripple, IOTA and Dash. You can check out his latest article here.
Although Upadhyay doesn't mention it in the analysis, the rumor mill has been swirling about Facebook preparing to announce support for Litecoin as a payment channel. It's all over reddit, but a few other writers have picked up on the story, including this one from Tom Luongo.
He brings up some great points, including Charlie Lee selling off all of his Litecoin because it was a "conflict of interest". Luongo also points out that Coinbase has announced the appointment of David Marcus, former Vice President of Messaging Products at Facebook.
Do you think this is going to actually happen? Is this just a bunch of hype?
Either way, I find it fascinating and as a Litecoin HODLer, can only hope that it is true!
To be honest, I'm sceptical. But not as much as I was before I checked and found that Facebook already supports people paying in like 80 foreign currencies for things like ads and game transactions. As a result it wouldn't be too hard to imagine something like litecoin on that list, but even that would be a far cry from supporting litecoin as a first class feature.
