FINISHING AND DESIGN
From the OnePlus 3 to the 3T has not changed anything compared to the design and finish, just the color. Already with the arrival of the new generation, the OnePlus 5, everything was different, except the finish that remains very good in metal, which passes more security than smartphones with glass back.
The design of OnePlus 5 has generated controversy since the first leaks because of the great resemblance to iPhone 7 Plus, but in practice it can not be confused! Of course, anyone who does not know the OP5 will think that it is a 7 Plus because of the similarity of the arrangement of the cameras in the back and color, but who already knows the device will not confuse in any way. Personally I found the difference much bigger, in the photos they look much more.
The OnePlus 5 is very beautiful and the matte black is beautiful, however it is good to have a lot of attention as it can easily scratch the back. I used it for several days without a cover and I noticed scratches on the back, just like when I was with iPhone 7 Plus Black. They were the only ones that appeared with scratches on the back, which shows that the Matte Black color is well subject.
The grip of the OnePlus 5 has improved greatly thanks to the curvature on the back, which fits better in the hands. It was slightly larger, but lighter, with dimensions of: 15.4 cm x 7.4 cm x 0.73 cm and weight of 153 grams.
CAMERAS
The OnePlus 5 comes equipped with two sensors on the back, the main 16-megapixel aperture f / 1.7, while the other has 20 MP with f / 2.6 aperture with dual-LED flash. The smartphone is capable of recording videos up to 4K, 1080p at 60 FPS and at 720p at 120 FPS and has 1.6x optical zoom.
But with all this technical data, does he make good photos in practice? The answer is yes! The rear sensor of the OnePlus 5 can capture great images and portrait mode is very efficient. But with low light it ends up disappointing a bit for not having optical stability of image, here we have a step back, since the 3T had.
Now speaking on the front camera, the OnePlus 5 can capture great selfies with the 16 megapixel sensor with f / 2.0 aperture, HDR Auto and capable of shooting in 1080p.
Overall I really enjoyed the photos from the OnePlus 5, both from the rear camera and from the front sensor. It is not the best in the market in photos, however does not disappoint, on the contrary, the results are very good.
CONNECTIONS
Here we do not have a lot of news except for Bluetooth 5.0, but the rest we've seen since the OnePlus 3T: WiFi AC, 4G LTE, NFC, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and BDS, USB-type C. It still lacks the infrared and microSD slot that many still enjoy.
OnePlus 5 is dual_SIM, with the possibility of using two chips and even 4G in both, which is great. Remembering that the 4G is fully compatible with Brazilian standard. And to not forget, it has the 3.5mm connection for headphones.
The biometric reader is much more efficient than the predecessor! Now the OP5 recognizes even faster and with much better accuracy.
PERFORMANCE
We have arrived at OnePlus' favorite spot! The smartphone has incredible performance with its Snapdragon 835 64-bit Octa-core chipset, Adreno 540 GPU allied to 8 GB of RAM!
When using the OnePlus 5 for a few days and then picking up the Galaxy S8, the OnePlus handset is so fast that the S8 "seems slow" when you switch to using Samsung after several days using OP5. It is very fast at all, switching between apps is instant, because with the 8 GB, practically everyone gets loaded into RAM, delivering a unique performance experience.
In terms of performance it is so summarized, since you have practically nothing to talk about, the OnePlus 5 is fast, super fast and mega fast using during the day to day. It is without a doubt the fastest smartphone to use in everyday life, and I have already tested Galaxy S8, S8 +, iPhone 7 Plus, Mi 6 and none of them offers the agility of the OP5.
Games also run very well on the smartphone, and has even been released update to fix some lags, something that was not normal for a device with Adreo 540 + Snapdragon 835 and Full HD resolution.
8 GB of RAM is exaggerated? Well, I did not find it! It's not fundamental, but it's great to have virtually everything already loaded into RAM. If you had to choose the best OnePlus 5, without a doubt the performance is the point that stands out in the device.
SYSTEM
The OnePlus 5 system has already received several fixes due to some bugs at launch, but the smartphone already runs Android 7.1.1 with a July 2017 security patch, that is, very current. And for those who like to stay up to date, it is guaranteed that OP5 will receive Android 8.0.
But speaking of the system itself, it's practically pure Android, with only a few extra features like the quick access screen. And thanks to the few modifications is that OnePlus can be much faster than competitors!
During the several days I used OnePlus 5 the only bug I encountered in the system was in relation to Bluetooth! I could not connect to AMAZFIT in any way and I saw several complaints regarding the pairing of bluetooth, which will certainly have corrections coming soon.
Oxygen OS 4.5.8 offers easy customization of icons and what pleased them were the various configurations available to adjust the DPI of the screen, something that is not found in all smartphones.
There is not much to talk about, it's basically pure Android, where the user can customize and install apps and games in the way they think best.
SCREEN
OnePlus has settled on the screen and we have no developments here, it's the same 5.5-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD resolution of OP3 and OP3T, but now with more brightness, which is better for use in open sunlight.
The angle of view pleases a lot, which is expected for the AMOLED display and overall quite pleases, does not disappoint, but also not surprising. In the next generation we expect the company to have evolutions.
Now at the point screen has something controversial, the gelatin effect! But is there really that? Yes, it's because of the inverted display, but in practice it does not influence NOTHING and is not noticeable, unless you keep looking for it! If you get an OP5 if you have never heard of it, you will never notice it, because it's nothing abnormal. Be sure to buy OnePlus 5 so it's a tremendous BESTAGE!
DRUMS
The battery has regressed from generation to generation! Before 3400 mAh, now 3300 mAh, but in practice the autonomy has improved, due to the lower consumption of Snapdragon 835.
In practice I easily managed 6 hours of the screen, which was enough to reach the end of the day with about 30% battery, much more than the S8, where I have to recharge every day while sleeping, because it is always in the red.
With more moderate use, it is possible to arrive yes to 1 day and a half, while with intense use every day will have to recharge. But that's no problem, Dash Charge technology puts OnePlus 5 at 100% again in just over 1 hour, it's amazing!
WORTH IT?
The OnePlus 5 arrived and generated great impact on the market with its 8 GB of RAM, which many people considered as exaggeration (I do not think), although the 6 GB version already delivered an incredible performance! But here the more, the better!
In performance I have no doubt, it is the fastest smartphone I have used! The overall set of the OnePlus 5 is very good, as it pleases the finish, design, battery, screen and cameras! It is not better at all, but in performance it is! And do not disappoint in other points.
No doubt worth investing in OnePlus 5!
Whoever looks for maximum performance and a good set spending little, the OnePlus 5 is the right choice!
