Heading home from Brighton. The ultimate comedown. I've got Louis' welcome meeting at the school tomorrow so I need to put my adult head on.

Once we got back I slept most of the afternoon away. It's time to finish watching Stranger things.

Monday, 6th November, 2017.

It's time to take Louis to his welcome meeting at his new school.

We are sitting in The George, having breakfast. Holy shit! Momentum is the only word I can think of to describe what happened at the school meeting. Apart from going through a bit of Louis' history, we were informed they want him to start this Thursday!

Once things start, they quickly gather speed. I thought I'd have the rest of the week to get things sorted, but no. After this, I've got to go to the uniform specialist to get his blazer, jumper, tie and P.E. kit, which all have to have the school logo on them. Then he needs shoes, followed by trousers, shirts, etc.... I can almost hear the money falling from my pockets. 💳Credit card bashing time!💳

It didn't take long. Luckily, they had all the uniform stuff that had to have logos in stock. Unluckily, it came to £140. I've still got to get shoes, a couple of pairs of trousers and at least 5 shirts.

Shoes are done. I've just had a call from the school asking him to come in at 2 pm today to sit some assessment exams. All fucking go! Right. Fuck it. We need to go chill out for an hour before this. I'll deal with trousers and shirts with my Next account. At least I can lay down and do it.

It'll be delivered tomorrow.

I've dropped him at the school. I'm more stressed than he is. Probably the effects of the weekend. I've got zero energy.

Right! Gotta relax for a few minutes. Calm it all down.

I've just lost my shit. It's no one's fault but my own. With the combination of the last few days, mixed with my inner, unresolved issues I just lost it.

I was trying to order school uniform and nothing was going right. Carter tried to help but I just shouted at her. I was just absolutely, unreceptive to any advice. I'm really sorry now. Sometimes, I'm just a CUNT . I know that.

Louis got really good scores on all this test. Above what was expected, even of kids who hadn't missed 5 years of school. The only one he was below on was his handwriting but that is to be expected as it's a repetitive motor skill he just hasn't used. They said he can type fast though.

I gave up on the school uniform thing and asked my mum to take him tomorrow.

I thought I'd have more trouble getting the stuff that had to have logos on it, not the basic black trousers and white shirts.

Tuesday, 7th November, 2017.

I left the house quietly. Shamefaced about my anger yesterday. Carter doesn't deserve it. She has her own shit to deal with. I'm still not used to being helped without there being massive payment owed afterward. That's why people like me should be alone. Punishment for my weakness and inability to change.

I'm sure it'll get better. As Carter said, I'm more worried about Louis' first day than he is. I'm sure it's terrifying for him though. I'm taking the day off on Thursday so I can take him and pick him up. Again, probably more for me than him.

Another beautiful day in Covent Garden. Terminating data cabinet panels. Work is work.

No one could really be arsed about lunch today. We ended up in Tesco's. I say, no one could be bothered. Chez(the boss's daughter) seemed quite hungry.

I only had

a cheese sandwich

and crisps!

We've pretty much completed our tasks for the day. This included smoking fags and laughing at the angry car drivers on Bedford Street. It's just not wide enough for 2 cars. Add a few deliveries.....Mayhem!

You haven't lived until you've seen a vicar lose his shit with a taxi driver.

I think I've caught a chill. I came straight in and made a very spicy, Bloody Mary. It helped. Louis achieved getting all his uniform. I made him try it all on. It fits. I think it's boosted his confidence a bit.

Wednesday, 8th November, 2017.

Another day closer to "Start School" day. Anyone would think I was going! I'm just very nervous for him. Apart from one month, last year, in Somerset, he hasn't been to school in five years. I'm not worried about the schooling itself, he's clever. He'll adapt to that. It's the social side. I just hope they aren't all a bunch of evil little Wankers. I'll try not to think about it.

Today also has another significance. At some point this morning, in a court in Somerset, my marriage will be declared decree nisi. This will mean only 6 weeks until decree absolute.

This, my friends, will be a day to celebrate.

There we were, having a nice cappuccino and a croissant before walking to the job in Hammersmith, when we get a call telling us we can't work there today. He! The site manager is a power-mad bastard. He hasn't given a very good reason. Anyway. Now we are heading to Convent Garden again. Morning shenanigans.

We succumb to the cold weather and ended up having another fry-up in "Spreads". It's not the best greasy spoon in the world, or the cheapest but considering its distance from Covent Garden, I can't complain. It's been a funny old day after all the messing around this morning. I didn't think we had anything to do here but we managed to make a whole day of it.

I just remembered. The court case! It must have gone smoothly. What an absolute bonus.
