Symptom

The vast majority of people with the Stockholm syndrome do so as an involuntary reflex on the part of the victim to sympathize with the offender and thus try to escape unscathed, we must also understand the state of frailty in which those people are , for which it is easier to manipulate them, it is important to know that the Stockholm syndrome has several people to survive after having had it with traumas due to the fact that it has a kidnapper.

Famous cases

A very famous case of the Stockholm syndrome is that of Patty Hearst, who shortly after February 4, 1974, was kidnapped at gunpoint. Their kidnappers were the Symbiotic Liberation Army (SLA), which aimed to overthrow the "dictatorship" of Nixon, said group was asking for 6 million dollars for the release of Patty, when the money was delivered, it did not turn to know nothing more about Patty, until in a recording, months later, it was announced that the name had been changed to "Tania" in honor of Che Guevara's partner, days later the group participated in an assault on the bank of Hibernia and finally, again, months later, in 1975, she was captured by the FBI, at the trial, her defense alleged that she suffered from the Stockholm syndrome, which did not convince the jury and sentenced her to 7 years of prison, and in 1979 Jimmy Carter commuted the sentence, so that in 2001 Bill Clinton granted him the complete pardon, in his memories, Patty affirms that his captors kept her in a wardrobe for 51 days. Right now she lives a discreet life and does not give so many interviews.
