There has been a lot of fairs and alike lately in my local park probably to keep the children occupied during the summer holidays, today the police came out and brought along a 1967 Morris Minor MKG 324F which was the patrol car of choice in the 1960's.
I had the opportunity to sit inside of the vehicle too and it was actually quite a tight squeeze, the officer in the pic above was very friendly and was interacting with the public and represented his uniform in a very professional manner.
The summer holidays are now coming to end so events like this will probably not be happening for the next year or so, being able to sit in this vehicle was quite the privilege and gave some insight in to how things were done in the 1960's, it also makes me think that things have certainly come a long way in terms of the equipment and vehicles that the police have available to them, it must have been very dangerous when car chases took place back then as the vehicles would likely cause serious injury if it were to crash.
chase me if you can 🚓
