Just a Tuesday in January

Today, not unlike other days -- I sit here, staring out the window and admiring how blue the sky is today. Springtime in Victoria, at least this year, is impeccable. Actually. Scratch that. It's not springtime yet -- it's not even February yet. There was even a segment on the National news last night about how the Cherry Blossoms are blooming over here, while Eastern Canada is getting its ass kicked with blizzards last night -- 25~30cm of snow on the highways which may or may not ruin everyones commute in the morning.

I'll take this any day

Day dreaming about my hobbies, or sometimes just nothing in particular (which I'm starting to think is actually one of my hobbies as well -- nice to check out every now and then). I've been realizing that, each time I put another task / hobby onto my plate, an existing one seems to fall off the edge. I've been busy since the new year rolled around with trying to implement a regular yoga practice in my day-to-day life. However, I realized the other day that I haven't picked up my guitar in quite some time (probably since before yoga, when I started focusing more on @exhaust).

It seems as though life needs balance

As one bucket drains, another fills -- and vice versa.

I didn't get much sleep last night. I think it's likely because my brain was still running at full speed when I laid my head down at the end of the night. I did all my dreaming during the day it seems, so night-time was time to get some serious thinking done, apparently. I followed my train of thought from the weather and the flowers, to my dogs, to my habits and hobbies. Running, climbing, playing guitar, coding, practicing yoga. Is there such a thing as time wasted? I can't honestly say if I've ever sat perfectly still and just 'wasted' time. Even if I'm just chillin in front of the TV, a part of my brain is usually plugging away at obsessing over something that has been on my mind.

Ideas come when you open the taps and let them flow. I've had a few in the last couple days. Some are personal, some are project related that I'm hoping to share before long. Newest take away that I should probably act on before long.... Get a notebook, so I can write shit down before I forget about it.

What do you find yourself day-dreaming about? Do you find day-dreaming to be useful and fun, or a waste of time and tiring?
