After reading and engaging with some projects for some time, I have looked at ways to be on top of some of these advancements. ENS was one of the first that I stumbled on to and despite of years watching it, I was hesitant to initially pay the transaction fees. However, after there successful token launch I started to read into again and finally initiated my first dive into a decentralized domain.
Quickly after, I was presented to Unstoppable Domains as an alternative as well. It looked a bit more nimble but is still in its development phase. However, for as little as $40 a domain can be minted on the Polygon network. I took this as an opportunity to move forward with the journey as I still remember my interest in having my own domain years ago. While I ended up with my Steem and HIVE accounts instead to have an avenue to express myself, I thought of this as a way to expand my identity into the Metaverse in the future.
Another great feature of this latest one is that it is a one time cost which you will never need to renew. My risk vs reward thought has this as an easy decision to make. Why not take a small step for such a great future potential? I am not much of a social butterfly but my experience here has shown me there are many ways to remain involved while preserving our energies.
