Spoiler Alert

Discovery season 1 finale spoiler alert.jpg

Last night was the season finale of Star Trek Discovery and while it was a good, neatly tying up lose ends for the traditionalist (aka the canonnites) I found it a little lack luster. We have witnessed action greatness only rivaled with the Battle of Wolf 359 or the Dominion Wars of DS9 consistantly this season until "Will You Take My Hand".

Michael shined brightly with the ideals of the Federation although she is the only convicted mutineer. Realizing that that Cornwell and Sarek had lied about the mission to Qo'nos, Michael not only confronts the Admiral but threatens a mutiny if they do not change their plan of planet destuction and possible species genocide. Saru and the bridge crew literally stand behind Burnham, which was nice to see. 😁 The plan is then revised.

Michael presents the Emperor with her freedom and the new plan, has her change the bio lock on the detinator to L'Rell⁉️. They actually allow Mirrror Georgoui to walk away (very Federation but I wouldn't have). She is evil and will cause mayhem in the future 🀞 but would love to see her as a reoccuring villian like Gul Dukat. L'Rell is given the Klingon Empire by the Federation, not sure I would have made this choice either but it did end the war. Ash and Michael seem to make ammends and a future between them might actually be possible then bam...he chooses to leave with L'Rell. 😒 Was not expecting that at all!

The crew of the Discovery recieved medals for the acts of valor, including Culber πŸ’š. Michael's mutiny was stricken from her record and she now carries the rank of Commander once again. They set of on a voyage with Sarek to pick up there new Captain from Vulcan when they recieve a distress call from the NCC-1701...The Enterprise. πŸ€—
