Sometimes you do things in the heat of the moment and there are few absolutes in life. Yesterday was a difficult day emotionally, especially for the kids. It was their nanny's last day and she is probably the first person in their lives who has left. Or at least the first that they can remember and they need time to process the emotions.
For all the lectures, scolding, arguments and driving each other mad that they used to have, it was pretty much tears all around from both sides. It's hard to not develop the feels after almost three years together.
Was it the right decision to do? Hard to say. While there are some regrets and tears, both sides have to remember that there was some unhappy emotions that led to this point. It was coming eventually with having to move overseas but the process was hastened.
So, there's no right or wrong, just feelings that will subside in time as the kids get busy with school and our former nanny gets used to her new employer. Another reminder of the impermanence of life - nothing good or bad lasts forever.
