The first kiteboarding drama film is being made right now as we speak!
For the rest of the month they will continue filming in Hatteras, North Carolina.
Some of the film was shot during the Triple S competition earlier this month in Hatteras NC. Filming will continue through the rest of June.
Based on the descriptions of the characters on some acting recruiter page, the story line seems terrible and I think goes like this:
Billy is dating Sarah. She is a beauty queen / rich girl, but her personality doesn't seem to be compatible with Billy’s. Billy is an extreme athlete / competitive kiteboarder and has been dating Sarah for years. Sasha is a surfer girl and ends up in the mix with Billy and Sarah. Then there is a kiteboarding competition in the midst of all the melodrama.
There will be some great video shots from the Triple S and additionally some shots where kiters are hanging from cranes and being sprayed by water hoses. Considering the low-budget of the film I am not expecting these shots to turn out very good.
Extras are paid $75/day USD. Some pro riders that were in the Triple S seized the opportunity to participate in the filming including Colleen Carroll and Craig Cunningham.
The dramatic acting scenes will be filmed over a couple of days in Texas in the beginning of July.
