Redstone basics for minecraft. lesson 2

in blog •  7 years ago

hey guess im back with another redstone lesson. so in lesson 1 we talked about what things can power redstone and your redstone machines. so now lets talk about the things that can BE powered. so heres a list

Dispensers, pistons, note blocks, droppers, redstone lamps, tnt, doors and trap doors, and kinda hoppers but thats for a different time.

so starting with the dispensers, dispensers do what the say in there name they dispense items, but with some things it does something special, like tnt it lights it and drops it in the front of it. same with lava. and with a mob spawn egg well its spawns the mod right in front.
so not on too pistons, there are 2 kinds of pistons normal and sticky. now what a normal one does is it pushes the block in front of it forward when powered. And sticky pistons push but they also pull so if they had just pushed a block when the pulse stops the piston retracts and takes the block with is the normal one doesn't take the block back with it.
alright not note blocks. note block react to redstone by making a sound. and how you can the sound is 1 clicking on it till you get the sound you want but then to change it a lot more is puting different blocks under it like stone sand dirt glass wood. and you can put them together to make a really nice sound.
now droppers! so droppers act alot like dispensers exept they ONLY drop the item in it. they don't spawn mobs or light tnt they only drop the item
Redstone lamps. These are really simple you only need to put a pulse into them and they will light up. although if you have lamps touching the lamp your redstone is going into it will light thoughs up too.
and now tnt. im sure you guess know what it does but. you just put a pulse through it and it just blows up. and take the blocks around it with them. but you dont need a redstone pulse for this you could use a flame bow or flint and steel to light the tnt.
And now for doors so im sure you've used doors but if you put a pulse through them they open so maybe if you put a pressure plate next to them they might open when you step on it.
And not trap doors! so if you dont know what a trap door is its a door that open under or on top of you. and they work the same way as doors.
So thats all im going to talk about today but be expecting a new lesson soon! and ill leave a pic of all the things I talked about.
and I forgot in lesson 1 but if you want to get minecraft for yourself visit www.minecraft.net
