Good morning Steemit

Birds are singing and the sun is shining.

Oh yes, it's actually a nice morning. I think there's rain on its way again though, but oh well.

The fire's crackling and looking at the pot of water on top of the wood stove, it's actually close to boiling point! I'm sure it'll be nice and warm here soon. I had to put a pot of water on the wood stove, because my eyes keep on hurting from being so dry. Yes, some extra humidity in the air will be nice.

Yesterday, I think, was a slow day! We did some archery and some gaming, and I made lasagnette without the cheese on top. Oh my gosh did I miss the cheese! We always forget to buy some when we decide on making oven dishes and shops in town are closed on sunday. I know I thought I wouldn't miss it terribly, but it sure is handy when the shops open up on sunday afternoon when you forgot to get cheese!

In the evening, I wasn't sure what to do. I ended up playing some Guild Wars 2!

Aaaah World vs World... It's been a while! While I was away, I got kicked out of the server's community guild, but I still have my spot in the guild I usually played with. Apparently, the guild leader has returned and he was always a fun commander to follow onto the battlefield! The next expansion's going to hit soon. The one I bought with my Advcash card. So I'm sure plenty of people will be returning to the game for a while. Yesterday evening, we had queues on all of the World vs World maps. On a sunday! It wasn't even reset day and maps were full! I remember a time where most maps didn't even have a commander...

This is good, it means many big fights in WvW, which is awesome! I'm going to have so much fun with that! I'm sure the expansion will offer many distractions though. But still, I'll keep being drawn back to WvW, because it's just so much fun to fight in those big battles.

I actually haven't checked out much about this expansion yet. I should probably read up on it a bit. All I know is that they mention mounts. I've never really missed having a mount in Guild Wars 2 to be honest. There are waypoints scattered across maps everywhere, so you can quite easily get around to wherever you want to go. I'm curious to see if they will have another use, besides faster movement.

Oh! And we can actually glide now in WvW! In places owned by our server that is. So we can hop off of high buildings to safely glide down towards where we are needed. How awesome is that? Have to be careful to be sure you're in an area your server owns though, otherwise you'll quickly plummet to your death.

Anyway, enough game talk for now!

Have a good day!

I personally think that cheese makes everything better. ;c)

That being said, I consider salt to be the next best substitute.

In the scenario of a cheeseless lasagna (and I'd be tempted to use those long-life sliced cheeses rather than nothing), one could always aim to improvise with a home-or-ready-made white sauce suitably seasoned (and mildly salted) up to taste.

Another potential substitute for cheese is bacon bits or some canned preserves (corned beef or canned tuna).

Of course - another alternative to cheese is going the natural yoghurt way - which can also be nice. ^_^

I find your description of your video game escapades to be intriguing. It helps fill the void in my non-gaming life. ;c)

Ooh thanks for the ideas! Hmm bacon... I think my boyfriend would find that a worthy substitute... sadly, we didn't have that either!

I don't think I ever actually made a white sauce, I should check that out and see if I can get the ingredients for next time :D

Oh its actually quite quick to make (and very flexible - I've used it for pastas, including lasagna, as well as side-sauces to go with dippers and meats. :c)

I personally follow this source - and keep in mind that I do eye-ball the quantities ;c)

I would personally suggest erring towards the thick side because you don't want to be adding flour after you've added the milk (the flour taste will remain).

Have fun. ^_^

Ooh thanks so much! I've added it to my favorites list :D

Heeeey are you on a camping trip...it sounds like that in the wooden fire crackling ..i can sniff the coming rain too mainly on a camping trip

I'm not on a camping trip. We recently moved into the cabin on my boyfriend's dad's property and for now, the only way to get this place warm is to burn wood in the wood stove :-)

Have a nice day, amazing explanation ...

Supeerrrr game 🌸
