Good late morning Steemit

in blog •  7 years ago

I'm a bit later than usual, but with good reason!

I went for a quick visit to the doctor this morning. Wanted to check out some spots on my skin just to be sure. Nothing's wrong with me, yay!

My boyfriend was able to work from home today, so he drove me just in case. We just got back, so time for a cup of tea!

So I managed to capture a nice number yesterday: 7500 posts! Took a screenshot of it:

Anyway, I would tell you of my plans today, but I don't have that many. Saying that, I do need to do laundry and not forget about it again. We also have to get groceries. We need fresh veggies and my boyfriend wants new minty leaves for tea.

I'll play a bit of Black Desert Online again, though the game really stresses me out. There's so much to do, I don't know where to start and what to focus on. So again, I'll probably just give up and fish most of the day.

Tomorrow, my boyfriend has a goodbye dinner for a co-worker, meaning I have to eat alone. I'm not sure yet if I'll eat out of the freezer, or order in. I kind of felt like ordering in from this great snackbar for a while already. Tempting...

Oh, I should also really start writing up more food posts. I have things to share, I just haven't written the posts yet. I also haven't processed my zoo pictures yet. The pc is all set up for it now though and the pictures are on my hdd, waiting to be processed. I just can't bring myself to do all these things yet. No worries though, I will.

And with that, I'll end this, because my head is all foggy today and won't produce many more useful words. Sorry!

Have a good day!

Ordering in or eating out of the freezer doesn't seem an exciting plan to me. It's always better to eat fresh. When your boy friend is enjoying his dinner out, it doesn't mean you have to munch something shitty. Please don't be too lazy and cook some thing awesome. Post those pics here. We won't complain you for not steeming while you are cooking for yourself..Seriously!

I always try to cook healthy for us. Sometimes though, I want to go for something easy or simply go for a 'wrong' meal. I've been resisting for a while now, but I have to get it out of my system sometime! I promise you I'll eat healthy on the other days.

Today is cauliflower, rice and fish day!

Hey, it is totally understandable. At times, almost all of us give in to our temptations. But since your name is Playful Foodie, so I was just trying to pull your leg 😝

But don't tell me that fish is healthy. In fact she's not even edible. She is a sentient, conscious and intelligent life form which humanity can do without. Beware, you are talking to a vegan and an animal right activist here.

Haha fair enough! No worries, I've got plenty of tasty things to share that I made myself. I actually had a few days where I tried two new things a day!

Aww I'm sorry! I'm not a vegan, so I do eat meat and fish sometimes. We also have our vegan days where we eat meat replacement though. I don't really care if I miss out on meat ánd fake meat, but I know my boyfriend likes atleast a fake burger. We found a really nice vegan oriental burger and you actually reminded me that we should go out and buy that again soon!

Great to know that you are already aware of vegan alternatives. And you and your boy friend like mock meat dishes. My city doesn't have any mock meat options yet. But we never crave for those as we have never been addicted to any meat's taste. In fact, we have never tasted it, so we don't even know how it is like to eat meat. But we really can't imagine eating someone when we have so many different options to eat.

I'd love to check your vegan recipes post (esp. those mouth-watering photographs) in future. But you will probably loose me as your follower if you post pics or recipes of anything non-vegan. It's a big turn off for me. Hope you can understand that feeling.

You've never had meat! I guess that does help in keeping you vegan, since you've never known anything else. It's partly what you're used to. Like I wouldn't really want to try eating insects, even though people say it's a good source of... what was it? Anyway, easier to not touch something you've never had before. I know it's still a choice though and I know you probably don't want to hear this, but it's my choice to not be a vegan. Meat-free days is all I can give you :-)

I can completely understand your feelings and I wouldn't feel offended. I don't really do fancy meat dishes, but I might share a dish or two with meat incorporated in it. I'm thinking now what my vegan recipes are. I guess it's mostly the non-dinner topics (or side dishes). Plenty of baked goods and smoothies here aswell.

How about eggs and milk? Do you eat/drink those?

Well, probably not! I wasn't a vegan 5 years back. And I didn't even know what veganism was. I was raised a vegetarian. And all my relative and most of my friends are vegetarian. But it's really not easy for them to go vegan. Just like quitting meat is difficult for meat eaters, for vegetarians, the major stumbling block to veganism is to quit dairy. And dairy is more difficult to quit than meat because of two reasons:

  1. It is very difficult to understand the inherent violence in consuming dairy as it is not directly visible to the consumers here and culturally cows are considered holy and are considered equivalent to our mother.

  2. In our culture, dairy is an integral part of meals. In fact, it is used in most of the dishes, sweets and even in sacred rituals and temples.

So unless people understand the inherent violence in it and can make a connection with their inner-Self, it will be always difficult to go vegan merely because of some logical reasoning.

Fortunately, for me, it wasn't any difficult. As soon as I realized and made the connection ...that was it. Later I learned that people like me are categorized as vegan 😊

So now you know that I don't consume any animal milk, eggs, honey or any animal product for that matter.

And regarding your mention of "choice", I had already dedicated a complete write-up on it but can't link here as it was written in Hindi. And it would be quite lengthy to explain all about it here. But I'm soon planning to write one in English too. Once done, I'd give you a link. Then sure, it would be your choice to read or ignore it 😉

Ooh I see! I'm sorry, I keep forgetting that vegetarian is the middle thing and vegans eat no animal products whatsoever. In the Netherlands, you grow up eating meat and all sorts of animal products, so here I guess is a very different view on it from most people. Vegetarians are the minority here.

If you send me a link, I will read it. Not in Hindi though, as I wouldn't understand that :-)

Have a beautiful day dear, take care of yourself.

Thank you :-)

You fish all day. With a spear.

Noo, with a fishing rod :D

Welcome to Steemit! If you have any questions, just ask.

I've just checked out your profile and there's one thing I should advise you on right away: Don't copy other people's content and post it as your own. Don't copy other website's content either. You have to write original pieces, coming from yourself. If you want to give some extra information, you can quote a source, but be sure to tell us the source.

  • Quoting you can do by using > at the start of the sentence.

It will look like this.

  • Linking to your source you can do by using this code:
    [Link text here](Link url here)

If you copy other's content without telling us, you're plagiarizing and the Steemit community does not accept that. It will harm your reputation and no one will look at your blog anymore, so please don't do that again :-)

Ok
Thank you so much
Am much more grateful

A very good program. I will follow you because you are someone friendly.
