I want to share this incredible dream I had the other night. Spoiler - We died, but it was beautiful

Have you ever had a dream that just rocked you to the core? I had one the other night that had to be one of the most surreal experiences I've ever had. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. We've all had dreams or nightmares that felt last the lasted hours even though it was a brief few moments.

My dream the other night was no more than a few seconds, but in those few seconds I received enough emotion and thoughts to last a lifetime. It's very hard to explain how vividly I remember not just what happened but every thought that ran through my head while dreaming.

Let me just get to the dream

I was in what was obviously meant to be my living room in one of the top floors of a high rise. I'm sure that is from memories of living in the top of a high rise in Nashville for 18 months while working a job there. Any way, I can see out the huge windows and sliding balcony door that it's a beautiful day. My wife is in the kitchen fixing something tasty I'm sure. Suddenly we hear this huge boom. It was a sound like nothing I've heard. Thoughts of thunder and explosions go through my mind as the sound was similar. I remember thinking wow, that sounded like that volcano in Guatemala, but I knew there were no volcanoes around me. That's when I catch a glimpse out the window. My mind was struggling to understand what was happening. It looked like the other building were growing. They seemed to be getting taller. In an instant, I realized they aren't growing, our building is falling. At this same instant the loud sound changed from something like thunder to something like an earthquake. My wife comes running from the kitchen in a full panic, she starts frantically moving back and forth in the hallway between the different rooms like she isn't sure where she's supposed to go or what she's supposed to do. For some reason I'm completely calm and completely resigned to what's happening. As I take another look at the window and see we are starting to descend even faster towards the ground. I just sit in the floor in front of the couch and yell at my wife. HONEY, but she's still frantic. Again I yell HONEY, she stops and looks at me. I just pat the floor next to me and say "Come sit with me, we only have a few seconds left". She runs over, sits down, we hug, we both say I love you. Then complete darkness and I wake up.

I'm telling you, I have had a lot of dreams and nightmares, but never anything that shook me so hard. I can usually not even remember many details from my dreams, but I feel like I'll never forget a second of this one. It doesn't even seem like a dream, it's a memory, as if I really lived it.

I told my wife about it my dream and after she said how sweet it was, she said that was a nightmare not a dream. But it really wasn't. I had no fear, I was not upset, I was calm and only felt Love. I kid you not, I'm a grown man, and I still tear up every time I think about it. The emotions just come flooding back.

Have any of you ever had an experience like this? I'd love to hear something about it or at least know how common it is for others.
