Noone is perfect. This is my own personal mantra because I have issues with perfectionism. It’s an important phrase because we all mess-up, do things wrong, make mistakes and it’s important to accept that those happened without making too much fuss about it and calmly moving forward.
.
That’s another thing: You have to move forward afterwards. You can’t just give up when something doesn’t go the way you thought it would or something goes wrong. I don’t think anything in the world would have ever gotten done if people gave up after making a mistake or failing the first time. Plus, you aren’t always going to make a mistake, so if that’s your fear, get over it. You WILL make mistakes, but not all the time.
.
I find that it is easier to give grace to someone else than to yourself. But, we all need to be a little better about it. It we don’t give ourselves grace, we will become crazy frustrated, sad and possibly depressed. It can spiral so quickly. Learn to give yourself a break & be more open to making mistakes & figuring things out along the way.
.
We all need to be willing to fail so that we learn new lessons about the goal we are trying to accomplish & be stronger the more we try to achieve it. I used to want to do EVERYTHING perfect the first time. It’s not easy to do this, but I would kill myself trying. It’s a fool’s errand because it’s not possible. You will eventually fail. Being okay with failure will make it easier to get back up again.
.
Accept those mistakes & missteps gracefully and move on with your life. Hammering down on yourself with guilt & anger & shame prevents you from growing & learning. Push back against that & move through life with grace for yourself & others. Noone is perfect. It’s a fact.
