To enter the contest read the article and answer the question, if you upvote the post I will put an upvote on your comment.

Everyone seemed to really enjoy the last time I did this and I don't mind showing off a work so I figured it was time to run it again!

Here's the Backstory:
Over the 17 monts, not week went by that I did not do at least 5 pieces of art for use on the Steem Blockchain,
From Drawing contests,. Submissions for adverting, Blog Banners for myself andothers, taglines, modified cartoons of others (derived art that was correctly credited), articles, meme's with more than words, signage, separators, borders, animations.... No top of that I have alot of non-digital Art...In addition I also cleanup images for friends blog posts and for me to sell product. And take pictures of recipes so others can see how good and easy it is to make healthy tasty inviting food choices.

All told conservatively at 5 a week, that meant I made over 350 pieces of Art!
Considering I was Blogging, programming, investing and doing other things...
That's Pretty goddamn impressive, if I do say so myself and I do....

Yea that's me showing my ugly mug and art off.
I can laugh at myself unlike a unnamed crying baby whiner despot-wanna-be abortion that's sitting in our White House.
That calls for a Meme (JUST MADE):
FORTRUMP.jpg
Ahhh, I feel better getting that off my chest! On to more fun stuff!

Since everyone seemed interested in viewing my paintings I posted (that weren't done in the last year), I figured I'd include another piece of work that taught me something.

But first it wouldn't be a fun romp through my mind with out some detailed back story....So get your therapist couches and notepads out. I'll lie down and cough up my thoughts as you judge me!

My art is based on my attention to detail mixed with creativity. And I got that training way back growing up as a preteen and then learning about the craft through high school and college.
The ability to express one self through a compendium of small details really came into focus when I was using pen and ink. Unlike other mediums, you mess up with crow quill pen or technical drawing pen... there is no erasing or hiding what you've done. Indian Ink is permanent! That's why diplomas and parchment have been written with it for a 3000 years!

I was asked to do a free draw in Scarsdale High School for a project in art class by my favorite Professor/Mentor growing up Mr. Lieneck. Great teacher that inspired me and many others to use not just the Art side of our brains but the mathematical and verbal. A truly great asset to all that were fortunate to take his classes or belong to the groups he worked with.

I had just seen M.K. Escher and was inspired by his free form flowing items merging from one to another.

I also loved Salvador Dali. work with items strewn about and all having meaning:

So I got the stupid idea, rather than do a small 5x8 half sheet of Paper and get done in a week. I decided to go whole hog and do a 36x24 massive piece and to top it off, instead of 1 subject, I was going to do a free form of consciousness.
The reason one does small pen and inks is because doing thinks like shading with dots and small light lines can literally take hours for a couple square inches. And you have to be careful, one splotch and you might as well cover the section in a black background with a wide brush.

Here's what I came up with...Why did I put a red block on this photo here? More on that later.
flowofconsciouspainting2.jpg
(click on the image to view it large to see details)

It took me over a 1.5 years to get it to this state! And then my Mom had it framed (she thought others should see it).
Actually it was far from done...I could have worked on it for another 2 years! But it's good I let her do it.
I learned later when taking Oil Painting classes in College, you can literally go forever refining a piece.
And you need to pick a reasonable stopping point so you get to your other ideas.

That's essentially how I have tried to live my life since then I did not quantify it to later.
Efficiency is not always the perfect solution Efficacy should be! After all the last 10% of something can
take up 90% of your time and resources, so if you can say it's good enough to get done what you need and save the time. money and anguish. That's what you should do. Just remember that doesn't mean prograstinate and don't do stuff at all. And there are times when absolute Efficency are needed. Just remember the saying "The Perfect Should Not be the Enemy of the Good". Just my world view!

For a great article discussing that saying read here:

Enough backstory on to the Art...

The interesting thing About this one is the photos depicted in this were all were made by me or my employees at Arkahdia Arts Studio.

And the image for Ron's (@lordoffaux) account is actually a mozart bust we used to manufacture with an Antique Silver finish.

If no one gets it right I will give it to the closest contestants.
I will announce the winner on saturday and there will be a new art contest giveaway then.

Central location and a source maybe and the ideas spring out and meander....

Is it your head opened like in the famous Escher Print?

You said you liked him...

is it maybe a train? or a something on a train?

Your artwork is amazing and I use the one you did for me as the cover for the power up league.

i'm guessing its not that looks like a bottle on the right hand side.... is it a 6pack?
lmk

sorry not a 6 pack, I was in 10th grade at the time, even though there was beer around mostly seniors were drinking it and I was into weed as a freshman and cleaned up my act by 10th grade... so no beer bottles....

But you seem to hit close on one of the items...

good guess find out at the end of the week.....
But there is more than one item...I guess your talking about the the one thats completely covered..

if you enlarge the picture you can figure some of them out....

sayings and allegories meander out of it?
And everything is intentional, even when mistakes.
And Rich loves to Read....
You guys missed it, I got it.....

It has to be a an open Book.

Here's my thoughts why. We are looking at an open book into his thoughts and soul.

And books can contain everything on this page......

You guys are making great guesses but not even close.....

The Pen and ink itself is made up of sayings and allegories, beliefs and thoughts.

Placement of items springs outward and meanders.

So when something is at the center of a work like this, it must have a reason....

It may be a flow of consciousness (but remember I worked on it for a year). So there are reasons for everything..... Even some inconsistencies are intentional in this drawing....

That's a clue....

SInce your a programmer I'm going to say it was a computer,,,,

cowboys1071_tabline.jpg

I've seen a mark that Rich does called the All seeing Eye and he has quickly done it for a girl when talking to them when out.

So I'm guessing the All seeing Eye....

How'd I do.....

well time for my guess, (there a bunch of us here at the end of a tourney trying to grill him right now)...

An allegory huh...
and it's the center of it all.....
How about the World it contains everthing do a picture of the earth it goes with those round items and the rocket ship going back towards it.

on the bottom of the box I see a flower going up into it. And I'm guessing it's a catapillar on the flower (I think). Based on that I know he likes Sci-FI and fantasy Books. So a catapiller on a flower talked to the Chercher Cat. who smoked and that could be the bubbles going out through the top of the Box. So is it a big Smiling Cat????

I'm Rich's best friend, and I've seen the picture a bunch of times and wiched I had paid attention now..........

Now I know Rich used to love to play Beach Volleyball, Sail small catsmerands, we been out fishing, and there is a beautiful painting he did of the ocean at sunset.

I see what looks like a top of an old time sailboat on top of the box, there is a fish coming out the right side, a bottle which could have a message in it on the left.

So maybe it's an ocean with fish and sailboat on top with a note in a bottle?

give me my money rich!

Everything You Need To Know About Sneaky Ninja

woosh

I'm Rich's cousin, I remember seeing the piece when it was in my Aunt and Uncle's house. But I actually never studied it. My Brother did, but we never talked about it.

So I'm going to try and piece it together. Rich said it was based on sayings, and he came up with one when he was a kid at camp and still uses it today. Life is a Cherr of Bowlies. So I think the round items moving into the box become a bowl of cherries!

How you like them Apples?

Cous?
