A spot on my map #8: Koh Bulone, I wonder if it still is that gem? A exotic paradise in the south of Thailand 🦎🏝

This is definitley a nice island that you can spend a few lazy days on, white sand like powder and turquoise water and all that stuff you want, the island has many cozy restaurants that you can chose from to get variety, and fun bars in the "jungle"

The first time we visited the island was 2012, we went with a Tigerline ferry from Koh Mook as we went on and off with longtail boat, but the second time in 2014 it was a bit more difficult for some reason. then we had to go to a kind of ferry harbor called Pak Bara.

I do not really know if we were doing something wrong while booking or if they changed the routes, but we do not usually worry so much if it takes half or a whole day to go somewhere, it's still an "adventure" meeting nice people and see something new has never hurt us.

What this island has to offer is not only white beaches and blue waters. There are also giant monitor lizards, some of them up to 180 cm, the biggest we saw were probably one meter, peaceful vegetarian the locals said, if that was the truth I don´t know, but I chose to believe in that.

We usually stay at the Marina Resort, it's not on the beach but has giant timber huts, very open between floorboards and no glass in the windows, but there are huge mosquito nets and the transparency makes it airy.

The electricity is only between 18-24 and after midnight the fan stops, do not know if other resorts have their own electricity and offer fan or AC 24/7 maybe they do.

But hereYou have two choices to fall asleep before midnight or like the hot situation.

When we were there there was not so much shopping and no atm, there were some hats and sarons for sale at our resort and a shop with some food and things like mosquito repellent in the middle of the island, but as said it goes quick in development ...

On the island also giant cool birds are nesting, Hornbills, I think they are called, very big and with very big beaks that look really heavy to drag around.

This is definitely an island worth a visit, quiet but still a certain range of restaurants and bars, which attracts both beach and jungle walks ... but I use to get a little restless so I think that 5 days are maximum for me, but if the goal is sun, beach, read a good book and just relax then it's perfect.

But it was four years since my last visit and if someone of you been there more recent please feel free to leave a comment and give me some up to date informations 😃🙏
