Bangkok Bangkok..I'm lucky that I like Bangkok this much, because it's still here our travels ends up every year, so that I can think it's great to be here anyway, otherwise it would just have been sad. Of course I miss my kids, my mom and people from home... so in some way in the sadness, it's good to end up here and make a summary of the Journey right here in Bangkok.
We landed at Don Muang airport and when we picked up our home made suitcase we took bus A4 which went right outside the doors, it cost 50baht p/p and took us all the way to the hotel basically, it stopped midway khao san road and rambuttri road absolutely perfect .
It's been a lot of walking, yesterday after some sun and hanging out on the roof top pool, we started with taking the bus (35) a bit so we ended up at Hua Lamphong Railway Station, and from there we went to Lumphini Park, we did a small lunch stop the way to rest your feet and have some cool of the restaurant's fan.
It was a crazy hot walk, but still lovely, it's so cool to see a place on foot, just like seeing everything that pops up, it's getting a bit tricky in the heavy traffic of course when you're crossing the roads, but we're getting a hang of it now ... and after Ho Chi Minh's traffic chaos, Bangkok is like ”a walk in the park”
Talking about parks 😜Lumphinipark is a green oasis in the hazzle of the city, it is free from traffic but still has roads and sidewalks, there are many lawns, palm trees and there is an artificial lake which in some places winds through the park.
People on Pic nic share the nature experience with the animals who have Seattle down here, there is dogs, turtles and the freaky warans swimming around the water and occasionally they climb up to sunbathe. If you want to you can rent small boats and go around the lake with, we did not see any shopping other than some who sold food to feed the fish with.
After visiting the park, we went to the MBK department store a must do thing for us when we are visiting Bangkok, but it became quite bad shopping results so at 21 o'clock and just over 20,000 steps later (almost 1.5 miles) wearing flip flops! we took a taxi back to the hotel, a tough but good day ending with a late dinner at home on our street ".
Today we have been to a museum😳! .. and it was the most bizarre experience I had for a long time.
After the compulsory solboost on the roof terrace, we walked down to the river and walked along the quayside through the university area to the local pier Tha Phran Chan where we stepped on the boat that took us to the other side of the river to Tha Wang Lang pier. This boat trip, which was indeed very short cost 3, 5 baht.
Just there at the pier lies Siriraj Hospital which besides taking care of health also houses one, or rather two museums. Siriraj Medical Museum and Bangkok Forensic Museum, and here in these two you can see the most bizarre "objects". There are whole mumified bodies of murderers and rapists executed, malformed dead children in glass containers, people in "slices" and completely carved nervous systems, it felt completely surreal to go around there and look.
A department was assigned to the Tsunami 2004 with pictures and a film with the hospital manager talking about the efforts that were made.
Understanible it was forbidden to photograph inside the museum, but if you are curios you can Google ( i don’t even put up a link here ) Bangkok forensic museum, but I do have to warn you it is really scary stuff so be prepared, or don’t go there...
It was a very different experience and it was with mixed feelings we walked "home" to the hotel to rest our feet and gather our thoughts before the night's street party.
In the morning at 05.30 am we will be picked up at our hotel for further transportation to the airport and Sweden. It feels as strange every time...so long ago since we started our trip but yet now it feel so suddenly.
In summary, I can say that it has been very good on the cochroach action this trip, a total of three creapy ones .. also spiders three and snakes three as well so all good things are not three but maybe it is "a magic number"
So thanks again, everyone who kindley followed me on this blog and thank you all the wonderful people we met along the way.
THANK YOU🙏🌺❤️☮️
กรุงเทพเป็นเมืองที่ฉันชอบ ยินดีต้อนรับ
I love this hectic bustle. I am fascinated by the people in their Tuc Tuc. Bangkok at night is simply fascinating. I have visited Bangkok 10 times and sleept always in lebua tower. The view is fascinating.
I love street food and driving on the river from one side to the other. Bangkok has so much culture. Is old, is new and very sophisticated. Bangkok is a big juggernaut but still a fascinating city.
Thanks for sharing these pictures. I liked to remember.
Greetings from the Caribbean. mikeCee

It went so quickly. It's fleeting isn't it? It was wonderful following your trip when I could. You really explored the places through and through. Take care and I look forward to updates from Sweden.

Now, that is a TRIP! I love the shot of the monitor lizard in Lumphini. Many memories for us there. Vietnam was next on our list, but we got called back to California for a gig. The Los Angeles traffic is pretty well known too. =) Upvoted! & Followed
