Why Are Intelligent People So Misunderstood?

Even though all of us are the same, i.e. human beings, we are all different in a plethora of ways. We all have our own personal preferences to things and ideas, abilities and dreams, ways and views of life and so on.

And although intelligence is something we all have in common, it is undeniable that a portion of the human race excels in this regard. These are the folks who invent things, who push the boundaries of the human race, expand our ideas about what is possible and give us hope for the future.

But these are the people who are also hugely misunderstood by the rest of us. That's right. Intelligence may have its perks but it can come at a price of being misunderstood by your fellow people. And it's all got to do with how their brain works in contrast to others.

They Explore Different Dimensions of The Same Thing

While most have binary way of thinking, intelligent people see the same thing in a multitude of different ways. And so, it might seem like they just can't arrive at a conclusion about anything.

Most people can get frustrated due to this as for them, the choice is straight forward and they just can't understand the multi-dimensional thinking that the brains of intelligent people are doing.

They're Not Able To Communicate Properly

There could be a million thoughts in their brains and sometimes all they could manage to communicate is a few sentences. Sometimes they might fail to find appropriate words to describe the complex concepts in their minds and sometimes they just can't choose which thoughts to communicate first.

As such, less smart people might simply misunderstand what they are trying to say as there is a lack of proper communication. If only there was a way they could peer into their brains directly, they would know the immense amount of activity inside their brains and what it is that they're wanting to say.

People Are Harder On Them When They Make Mistakes

We all make mistakes and we learn from them and it might be overlooked by people. But when highly intelligent people make mistakes, other people are usually very hard on them. That is because they are not expected to make mistakes and when they do, it gives other people an excuse to look superior compared to them.

This is all the more difficult for the smart people as they tend to feel bad when they make a mistake. They know that they are held to high standards and when they let someone down, it can really upset them.

They're Not That Good At The 'Social' Part

People skills is something we all learn as we grow up and interact with different people. The way we deal with different people like our friends, family, spouse, colleagues, etc can be a little different and there are so many unsaid rules when it comes to being "social".

Highly intelligent people often lack these social skills and so, they are highly misunderstood. People often accuse them of being disinterested or arrogant or things like that but what they fail to understand is that dealing with any particular relationship can be hard for them. It's not that they don't want to, they just don't know how!

There is absolute no correlation between social skills and intelligence! You've just made this up along with every other conclusion in this post. Many things you describe here are symptoms of mild autism.
Absolute nonsense post.

The portrait you made about intelligence is accurate. Obama is smart (referring to your definition of smart people) would say that he has no communication skills ?
