No matter at what period of time, at which place in the universe or which individual concerned, he or she should always believe responsibly. In other words, believing into something without deep reflections and concrete evidences is an immoral act and it will always be one.
This is something I have picked up in "The Ethics of Belief" by William Kingdon Clifford recently, and I think the central idea behind this work has a tremendous value.
Believing something without proofs to back up is immoral because our behaviors are greatly influenced by our beliefs.
Believing in false facts can threaten the safety of other people and yourself included.
Believing without certainty does not contribute to the overall advancement of humanity
Many people often use belief as an excuse in many arguments, they think that their beliefs are sacred, right and untouchable. What they don't realize is that any kind of belief should be examined no matter the conditions.
I want to say to those people: Please, stop what you are doing. You are hurting yourself and everyone around you.
It is only through believing with responsibility that we can approach Truth.
